When someone accepts an invitation to join your network (a group of people someone communicates and shares with on

Invite people from your contact list
  1. Sign in to the Windows Live home page with your Windows Live ID (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in

  2. On the right side of the page, clickAdd people.
  3. InSelect from your contact listsSection, select
    Windows Live.
  4. Click the arrow icon.
  5. Select the check boxes next to the people that you want to invite.
  6. ClickNext.
  7. Do one or more of the following:
    • To include a personal message in your e-mail invitation, type your message
      In the box.
    • To add the people that you're inviting to a category (a group of your contacts such as friends, family, or
      Co-workers. You can restrict access to parts of your profile information to
      Category or categories.), select a category from the list. To add a new
      Category, clickAdd new category.
  8. ClickSend invitation.
Invite people from other online networks
  1. Sign in to Windows Live home with your Windows Live ID (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in
    Windows Live programs and services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live
    Messenger; Microsoft services such as Xbox Live, MSN, and office live; and
    Anywhere else that you see the Windows Live ID logo.), if you haven't
    Already done so, and then clickProfile.
  2. On the right side of the page, clickAdd people.
  3. InAdd from your contact listsSection, select
    Online Network from which you want to invite people.
  4. Sign in to the online network, and then follow the on-screen
    Instructions.
Invite people by E-mail address
  1. Sign in to Windows Live home with your Windows Live ID (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in
    Windows Live programs and services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live
    Messenger; Microsoft services such as Xbox Live, MSN, and office live; and
    Anywhere else that you see the Windows Live ID logo.), if you haven't
    Already done so, and then clickProfile.
  2. On the right side of the page, clickAdd people.
  3. InAdd by E-mail addressSection, type the person's
    E-mail address. If you enter more than one e-mail address, separate each E-mail
    Address with a comma.
  4. Click the arrow icon.
  5. Do one or more of the following:
    • To include a personal message in your e-mail invitation, type your message
      In the box.
    • To add the people that you're inviting to a category (a group of your contacts such as friends, family, or
      Co-workers. You can restrict access to parts of your profile information to
      Category or categories.), select a category from the list. To add a new
      Category, clickAdd new category.
    • To add them to messenger, selectAdd this person to Windows Live
      Messenger
      Check box.
  6. ClickSend invitation.
Invite people who are in your profile contacts 'networks
  1. Sign in to Windows Live home with your Windows Live ID (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in
    Windows Live programs and services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live
    Messenger; Microsoft services such as Xbox Live, MSN, and office live; and
    Anywhere else that you see the Windows Live ID logo.), if you haven't
    Already done so, and then clickProfile.
  2. NextNetwork, ClickView More.
  3. Next to your contact's profile picture, clickView Network.
    If they 've given you permission to view their network, the people on their
    Profile are listed.
  4. Next to the picture of the person who you want to add to your profile, click
    Add to your network.
  5. Do one or more of the following:
    • To include a personal message in your e-mail invitation, type your message
      In the box.
    • To add the people that you're inviting to a category (a group of your contacts such as friends, family, or
      Co-workers. You can restrict access to parts of your profile information to
      Category or categories.), select a category from the list. To add a new
      Category, clickAdd new category.
    • To add them to messenger, selectAdd this person to Windows Live
      Messenger
      Check box.
  6. ClickSend invitation.
Notes
  • You can search for other people on Windows Live who share your interests,
    And then invite them to join your network. For more information, see search

  • Windows Live suggests people you might like to add to your network, based on
    Your profile contacts 'networks. To see these suggestions, click
    Network, And then clickSee suggestions.
  • When you send someone an invitation to join your profile, they receive
    E-Mail notification. If they have a profile on Windows Live, they also see
    Notification message when they sign in. If they don't already have a profile on
    Windows Live, they receive an e-mail telling them how to get one and how to join
    Your network. When they accept, you'll see them on your profile page.
  • You can limit who can view the information in your profile and see your
    Activities. For more information, see change
