Kickstart unattended rhel5 installation (graphic version)



A text version was released earlier. Now we have a detailed graphic version to help everyone implement rhel5 unattended installation. The video is also configured! There's just no place to send a PDF to everyone. It's okay if you do it!

Test environment: RedHat 5.3 disable iptables and SELinux

Required services: DHCP vsftp TFTP xinted


1. Set up the yum Source:

Ii. Install the vsftp service:

2. Generate the KS. cfg installation configuration file:

1) graphical interface configuration: (run the system-config-kickstart command in the terminal)

2) modify the newly generated ks. cfg file: we have not configured the installed software package, because the system does not have this part of the service.

3. Copy the configuration file to the specified location:

We set Ks = ftp: // 192.168.1.8/KS. cfg in the/tftpboot/pxelinux. cfg/default file.

8. Test Workstation:


Skip DHCP and start the computer through TFTP
