FrontPage2003 's "Layout Tables and Cells" feature can be used to lay out web pages, and many small partners are interested in this feature of FrontPage2003. Today, Superman software Small series on the detailed introduction of this FrontPage2003 tutorial, tell you how to use this function FrontPage2003.

When you use the FrontPage2003 layout tables and cells feature to lay out a Web page, you need to do it in two parts.

First, you create a frame for the page layout by using the layout table feature, and then populate the frame with the area of the Web page content (including text, images, Web Parts, and other elements), which is the cell, by using the layout cells feature.

Here we will set a unit site home page as an example to understand the layout table to the layout of the process.

First, create a layout table

1. Create a layout table

Open a blank Web page and switch to Design view, click Layout Tables and Cells on the Table menu, and then pop a task window on the right (Figure 1), where the program provides a variety of table layout templates, where you can click the template you want to add the template to your Web page.

2. Draw Layout Table

If you are not satisfied with the layout table provided in the template, you can also create a layout table by hand-drawn methods. When created, first click Draw Layout table in the new table and cells item, then move the pointer to the left end of the action window, and then drag the mouse to draw the table.

3. Set Table Properties

After you insert a table, you also need to set the table properties. Set the properties you want for the table in the table properties item.

Tip: When you set up a table, you can set the properties of each margin in the table to 0 if you want to overwrite the default margins of the page and let the layout table cross the edge of the document window.

When you design a frame, you often need to adjust the properties of a row or column, and you can do so by using a label in the table that is the column width and row height. In the Action window, click the border where you want the layout table to be resized, and the labels that display column widths and row heights appear on each side. Each label includes a drop-down arrow, such as changing the height of a row, clicking the drop-down arrow to eject a drop-down menu, selecting the Change row height command, and then re-enter the row height value in the Row Properties dialog box that pops up.

FRONTPAGE2003 also provides a tabular automatic feature that scales automatically, adjusts the width and height of the table, and allows you to quickly adjust the size of the table by selecting the "Auto Zoom" command in the Margin tab drop-down menu.

Second, the cell add and set

1. Add cells

Layout table after you create a page frame, you also add cells to the table. When you add, click Draw Layout cells under new table and cells, and then draw the cells as you draw the table. If we need to draw a contiguous cell, when you click Draw Layout cell, hold down the CTRL key while you drag the mouse.

2. Set cells

The cells in this page are more complex because you need to add more links and buttons on the homepage. For the sake of beauty, you also need to make the relevant settings for the cell in the page.

(1) Cell property settings

Click Cell Properties and borders in the Cell Property Settings Task window, and then you can set the height, width, background color, border, margin, and so on for the selected cells. The setting method is similar to the table setting.

(2) Set the Corner property of the cell

In order to be beautiful, you also need to add some fillet pictures to decorate the Web page, such as the edge of the navigation tool bar. It's a hassle to add these pictures to a Web page before, but in FrontPage2003 we can easily fix the problem by setting the cell corner property.

First you click cell Corners and Shadows in the cell formatting window, and then the corner and Shadow Settings window appears below. In the corner item, select the Use default image option, and then set the width and height of the corner, and set the color of the corner in the color below. When set, select a corner style in apply to add the corner to the cell.

In addition, we can add a homemade picture style by using custom images (Figure 2).

(3) Set the Shadow property of a cell

In the shadow item, first set the width of the shadow, and then type the value you want in the softness box. Click the Color Drop-down menu to select a color for the shadow, and enter a shadow style in the Apply item to add the set shadow to the page cell.
