Understanding the Graphical interface
Press the keyboard win key to open the dash search LibreOffice writer open
The top is the menu row, and the menu is contextual, which means that only the menu items that are relevant to the currently executing operation are available.
Title bar that displays the name of the currently active file.
The next line of title bar displays the name of the currently active file.
The next line is the tool line, some common shortcuts.
The middle is the work area.
The last line shows the total number of words, adjusting the size of the workspace by scaling the slider
New, close, save document
A blank document is created by default when you start LibreOffice writer. Click the first button on the toolbar to create an empty document, or press CTRL + N shortcut keys
It is a good habit to save the periodical during the process of document editing. If you want to save the current progress in the current document click the toolbar's third icon, or press Ctrl+s. If you do not want to overwrite the original document click File in pop-up menu choose Save As, or press Ctrl+shift+s
Click on the Fork button in the upper left corner of the document window to close
