Microsoft issued the OCS2007R2 in June this year, full name Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 as one of Microsoft's many R2 products, I believe it is not a simple upgrade, R2 add many features
Communicator 2007 R2 offers several new features, some of which require the deployment of additional Office Communications Server 2007 server roles.
New Call feature. No additional server roles are required. Invite participants by using an alternate phone number, use the keyboard during a call, and copy and paste the number into a dial.
Contact List enhancements. No additional server roles are required. Sort the contacts alphabetically, display the delegate, or display your team call group. Search for a contact that corresponds to the response group, and then add the contact to your contact list.
"Phone only" contact. No additional server roles are required. Add phone numbers to your contacts list to facilitate quick calls (for example, add friends and family phone numbers).
Voice mail enhancements. No additional server roles are required. Direct access to a contact's voice mail, or change the voice mail greeting.
Call delegation. No additional server roles are required. Select one or more assistants (agents) to answer your calls. The agent must use Office Communicator 2007 R2 attendant rather than Communicator.
Team call. No additional server roles are required. Set up a group of contacts to which you want to answer your calls.
Telephone dial-in audio conferencing. A unified communications application server is required. Adds a teleconference number to the Communicator meeting so that invitees can use any phone to dial in the audio.
Response Group. A unified communications application server is required. Creates a workflow in which future circuits are queued to one or more specified agents.
Desktop Sharing. Application Sharing Conferencing Server is required. Show the entire computer desktop to other Communicator participants.
Meet Now. Application Sharing Conferencing Server is required. Quickly create meetings and invite internal or external (anonymous) participants by e-mail. Participants use Communicator or Communicator Web Access to join the meeting.
Automatic Updates. No additional server roles are required. Configure the Communicator to receive automatic Updates.
Archive, call details logging, and QoE. The new monitoring server has both call Details logging (CDR) and user Experience quality (QoE) capabilities. The Archiving server provides archiving functionality.
Video enhancement features. An in-band setup option is required to enable/disable the Receive video feature. As long as the hardware, network camera and bandwidth requirements are met, the Peer-to-peer call supports VGA (640x480 @ up to 25 frames/sec) and HD (1280x720 @ Maximum 25 frames/sec) Resolution format.
Desktop Telephony integration. No additional server roles are required. When you connect your desktop phone to your computer by using a USB cable, your desktop phone becomes the preferred audio device for calls, meetings, and Microsoft Office Live meeting sessions.
