Recently, Microsoft Research Asia through the GitHub platform open source map data Query Language LIKQ (language-integrated knowledge query). LIKQ is a data query language that can be used for child graph and path query based on distributed large-scale graph data processing engine graph engine. It allows developers to build a knowledge map language directly using native C # code without learning the specific query language associated with the new domain, thus enabling real-time retrieval and integration of massive graph data to be readily available.

Graph Engine (Distributed graph processing engine) is a Microsoft Research Asia distributed large-scale graph data processing engine released in 2015, which can help users to deal with large scale image efficiently. For more than a year, Graph engine has received extensive attention from academia and industry. By the end of January 2017, Graph engine's SDK Toolkit has been downloaded nearly 30,000 times. Researchers and developers in many fields have developed a variety of creative applications using graph engine.

The query language LIKQ based on graph engine can help users to query and retrieve graph data processed by graph engine more conveniently and intuitively. Developers can embed LIKQ directly into programming languages (such as C # and JavaScript) without having to learn the specific query language associated with new fields. For example, in the front-end application of a knowledge map, developers can embed LIKQ directly into the front-end JavaScript to achieve real-time and efficient knowledge map access. At the same time, LIKQ also has flexible scalability, the expression of lambda expression of arbitrary computing logic can be directly embedded in the query statement, so as to achieve a powerful server-side calculation. For example, in a data query, developers can easily embed data filtering conditions that are customized by lambda expressions to make flexible graph pattern matching.


Previously, LIKQ based on graph engine has been applied to Microsoft's Cognitive service's academic Atlas Retrieval API, where users can conduct real-time path and pattern matching queries through Microsoft's cognitive services to Microsoft's academic atlas.
In the future, Microsoft will continue to maintain, develop LIKQ and graph Engine, and work with developers in the open source community to further enhance its capabilities and algorithms to help more developers and research groups to better use graph Engine to handle large-scale map data, resulting in more creative applications and scientific innovation.
