Universs is a 3D RSS feed reader for Windows Vista. The program uses Windows Presentation Foundation to graphically display RSS feeds and their contents.
In Universs, we can see a 3D "universe" Space, "Galaxy" represents the RSS feed directory, and the cube-shaped "star" represents a single feed. The size and location of the feed cube depends on how much of the content is read.
In addition, users can identify each feed through the website logo or feed picture.
Microsoft says the operation in this environment is a bit like playing games, "the items in the select list will move the cube to the other side, showing the contents of the item including the picture", "Click the right mouse button to return to the list view or back to the Milky Way." ”
Microsoft recommends that Universs be installed in Windows Vista premium-ready pc, hardware configured to CPU,1GB memory above 1Ghz, support DirectX 9 and have WDDM drive graphics, 128MB video memory, support Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32-bit color depth.
UNIVERSS future planning features include other navigational styles, advanced search and classification, and Microsoft live platform integration and more personalization options.
