Note: All of the following operations are done under Fedora Core 5
Installation and use of Bochs
Download the Bochs rpm package from the bochs.sourceforge.net, install it directly, then execute the BOCHS-DLX command at the command line, if the dlx-linux is properly started, the installation is correct, now if the execution of the Bochs command can not receive the correct result is normal, from /usr/share/doc/bochs/index.html's User Guide's 5.2 Search order for the configuration file can be seen if we don't define any. Bochsrc, Bochsrc.txt and other similar files, will cause the execution of Bochs command failed, to let its command execution success, the simplest is to/usr/share/bochs/ Dlxlinux under the Dlx-linux related to the start of the bochsrc.txt after the hd10meg.img.gz file copy to the root directory, and then execute the BOCHS command can see Dlx-linux also successfully started.
How to use Root.mnx and Usr.mnx to start minix204 under Bochs (step)
A. Download the Intel-2.0.4 version intel-2.0.4.tar.bz2 file from http://www.minix3.org/previous-versions/to a directory such as/home/minix204/
B. In order to be able to use ROOT.MNX and usr.mnx to start minix204, we need to read a name called bxmxhowto.html (it comes from http://bochs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/topper.pl ? name=disk+images&url=http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.phpqmrkgroup_ideq12580amppackage_ ideq27799 downloaded Minix204.zip/minix204/howto/bxmxhowto.html) using virtual floppy and CD-ROM drives part (preferably read through the entire file)
C. In order to start the minix204 under the Bochs we only need to copy Root.mnx and Usr.mnx under the intel-2.0.4/i386/in step A to a specific directory, where I copy to/home/minix204/ bochs-minix204 directory, also missing a file bochsrc.txt, will be/usr/share/bochs/dlxlinux/under the file also copied here, modify
C.1 Floppya:1_44=floppya.img, status=inserted
Floppyb:1_44=floppyb.img, status=inserted (if there are more than one line to comment out)
For:
