According to foreign media reports, the MIT Media Lab presented a project named smarter objects at the chi 2013 Human Factor computing conference in Paris. It uses the iPad interface and some simple processor/Wi-Fi transceiver to draw software functions to tangible objects, such as radios, speakers, switches, and locks.
According to Valentin huen, the graphic user interface is perfect for modifying systems, making it easier to operate on them than to use tangible objects.
It is understood that the iPad application developed by MIT researchers uses Motion Tracking Technology to "Draw" user interfaces to different objects to form a screen operation interface. In the MIT introduction video, we can see a radio with two knob and a speaker. When the iPad camera is facing it, a circular interface and menu list system pop up immediately, different songs are "drawn" to different locations on the knob to help you select music on the virtual iPad screen. The same applies to switches or locks.
