Mozilla complained that Google Apple HTML5 was not a free advertisement

According to foreign media reports, Firefox browser developer Mozilla evangelist Chris Blizzard recently said in a blog post that Apple and Google are suspected of abusing HTML5 open standard names, and use the opportunity to promote their respective browser products, while Microsoft has taken the correct step in adopting open network standards.

Brezad believes that Apple and Google "use HTML5 to promote their respective browsers" not only mislead Internet users, but also delay the pace of the Internet industry to adopt truly open standards.

Apple recently opened a website named "HTML display" to show some open standards adopted by Safari to users, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Brizad pointed out that Apple's website requires Internet users to download and install the Safari browser before they can view the corresponding demonstration functions. In addition, the description text of the website implies that only Safari can truly support the above open standards, but Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera and other browsers have also supported these open standards.

Brizad wrote in his blog: "Not only does Safari support open standards, but many browsers also support it ." He went on to point out that Apple's website, in the name of HTML5, is actually intended to promote Apple's own Safari browser, and Safari itself still has a lot of technology that does not adopt real open standards.

Refer to Google

After criticizing apple, brizad targeted Google again. He believes that Google is abusing the HTML5 definition of "promise": that is, using the HTML5 name to promote its own Chrome browser. Brezad said that although Google advocates the use of open source technology-based VP8 video technology standards, but Google also announced the opening of the Chrome app store, in the hope that Chrome will become the de facto Internet browsing standard.

In other words, through the Chrome app store, Google hopes that external developers only need to consider how well these programs can run on Chrome when developing various network applications, you don't have to worry about compatibility with other browsers. As a result, Google's browser open standards have become a blank saying.

Praise Microsoft

Brezad believes that Apple and Google are not "consistent in words and deeds" in promoting Internet open standards. On the contrary, Microsoft is doing well in this regard. "HTML5 itself is nothing new, in fact, it is to see whether major browser developers are willing to work hard on compatibility. Even the oldest Microsoft has already understood the true intent of HTML5. They will truly support HTML5 in IE9. In fact, through HTML5 standards, developers of various browsers have the opportunity to work together and reach consensus ."

Brezad pointed out that the HTML5 standard was intended to enable developers of various browsers to work together and work out a unified solution recognized by the industry. However, Apple and Google are "doing their own thing" in the name of HTML5, which is contrary to the goal of the Internet industry to achieve true open standards.
