Network Sharing troubleshooting
Question 1: The system prompts "the network location cannot be accessed. For network troubleshooting information, see Windows Help ." Or "network path not found"
Cause Analysis: This is a problem with the line, or the other party may have used a firewall to block your access. Disable the firewall and check the network cable.
Problem 2: no computers can be seen in the network neighbors.
Cause Analysis: you cannot see others' computers. First, you can see your own computers. If you don't see it, you don't have the installation file shared with the printer. Right-click [Network Neighbor], select [properties], right-click [local connection], and select [properties]. hook up the check before [Microsoft network file and printer sharing. Of course, the other party must also enable file and printer sharing. In addition, all computers should be in the same working group, for example, all in the workgroup group, and the computer name is not repeated. If you can access the Internet normally, the Computer Browser, server, and workstation services are not started. You can enable the services in the [SERVICE. If neither of them works, there is another emergency method: if both parties can ping each other, open a folder and enter the IP address of the other computer (such as 192.168.1.100) in the address bar and press Enter, generally, you can access it.
Question 3: The system prompts "Logon Failed: the user is not granted the type of request to log on to this computer"
Cause analysis: the current account you are using is forbidden to log on from the network in the user permission settings of the other computer. If Windows 9x is used for access, the error message is "no resource access permission ". It is best to use guest for cross-OS sharing:
1. Enable the Guest account
2. [Local Security Policy]-> [Security Settings]-> [local policy]-> [User Privilege Assignment,
Add guest to [Access this computer from the network]
Delete guest from [Deny access to this computer from the network]
3. [Local Security Policy]-> [Security Settings]-> [local policy]-> [Security Options]
[Network Access: Sharing and security model of the Local Account], set to [Guest only]
[Account: A local account with a blank password can only log on to the console], set to [disabled]
Problem 4: The logon window is displayed, but no account can be used to log on.
Cause analysis: the Guest account of the Peer computer is disabled, and the [Network Access: Sharing and security model of the Local Account] is set to [Guest only]. This is a pair of conflicting settings, and requires others to log on with the Guest account, and disabled the Guest account, apparently cannot log on. To solve this problem, either enable the Guest account or set it to [classic]. You Can Do It Yourself (we recommend that you enable the Guest account)
Note that if you share folders before proceeding with the sharing settings in this article, you may need to cancel the sharing before sharing again to be correctly accessed!
