Capturing data to a file
Capture data to a file as soon as you run the Nmon command with the-f flag. After you execute nmon–f * * *, Nmon will be run in the background. To see if the process is still running, you can enter:
Ps-ef | grep Nmon
Example:
Captures data snapshots every 1 seconds, capturing 20 times
Nmon–f-s 1-c 20
Captures data snapshots every 30 seconds, captures 120 times, contains process information
Nmon–ft-s 30-c 120
The command will create an output file in the current directory with the name:
Nmon_analyser
The Nmon_analyser tool takes the files generated by the Nmon Performance tool as input, and then converts them into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and automatically generates the corresponding graphics.
The script generation *.xls file is not executed correctly using WPS. Recommended for Excel 2000 or later, you must select Enable macros in the Open Nmon_analyser.
The Nmon_analyser tool is designed for the latest version of Nmon, but is also tested with older versions for backward compatibility reasons. The tool is also updated whenever an update is made to the Nmon.
