ntop is a monitoring network traffic tool, with ntop Display network usage is more intuitive and detailed than some other network management software.
1. Check the installation environment: Install the dependent packages
[[Email protected]]# yum–y Install libtool libpcap-devel gdbm-devel gdbm make Pango-devel GD
2. Install the required plugins
[Email protected]]# yum–y libpcap GeoIP RRDtool
3. Compile and install ntop
[Email protected]]# tar zxvf ntop-5.0.1.tar.gz

[[Email protected]]# mv ntop-5.0.1 ntop
[[email protected]] #cd ntop
[[Email Protected]]#./autogen.sh–with-tcpwrap
[[Email protected]]# make && make install
4. Configure ntop
# Useradd NTOP
# password ntop
#cd/usr/local/ntop/var
#chown ntop:ntop ntop
#cpntop/packages/redhat/ntop.conf.sample/usr/local/ntop/etc/ntop/ntop.conf
#vim ntop.conf Note the following fields
--user ntop Run as ntop
--db-file-path/usr/local/ntop/share/ntop Data Storage Directory
--interface eth0 Monitored NIC
–-http-server 3000 Ports running
5. start ntop
#cd/usr/local/ntop/bin
#./ntop–d–p/usr/local/ntop/var/ntop
The NTOP default listener port is 3000, so you can enter http://117.40.239.9:3000 in the browser to view the NTOP monitor screen. Note: Be sure to turn on port 3000 on the firewall or you cannot access it.
