Although this problem has not yet occurred, I am hesitant to upgrade the BIOS because I prefer a quiet version. The official explanation only increases the fan speed to solve this problem, and the noise may also be very high! The following is a description of the switch from cnbeta:
Earlier this month, websites such as ARS technica and zdnet posted a blog about some NVIDIA graphics processors (GPUs) used by laptops.Article. According to NVIDIA, these affected GPUs have a higher failure rate than expected, leading to image faults. Although Dell is not the only vendor affected by this issue, some of Dell's laptops do use related GPUs. Therefore, I would like to make some effort to explain this problem and let the affected users know what to do next.
This fault is caused by the fragile crystal element/packaging material, which may cause chip failure as the GPU temperature fluctuates. If the GPU is down, your computer may experience the following early symptoms:
- Multiple images
- Inexplicable words appear on the screen
- Line appears on the screen
- No image displayed on the screen
Dell recommends that you quickly update the BIOS in your computer system (see the link in the table below ). The updated BIOS listed in the following table can modify the fan overview to help stabilize GPU temperature fluctuations. NOTE: If an image fault has occurred on your computer (as listed in the preceding table), you will not be able to correct the BIOS update. Dell will provide support to affected users under the terms of the warranty agreement.
Updating the BIOS will reduce the possibility of GPU failure in the future. The BIOS update has been completed when the new system is shipped. The following is a summary of the latest BIOS version. Click the link to download.

If you need help in quickly searching for the computer system bios, or you still find image problems in the computer system after updating the bios, contact Dell Technical Support. Our technical support team will do its utmost to solve problems for affected users one by one.
Dell's BIOS cannot solve technical flaws ..... it only improves the fan speed... with the rapid consumption of laptop battery to extend the GPU life in disguise... I don't know if such an approach will be taken away one by one... it may even reduce the frequency of the 8 series... frequency reduction operation .... alas...
Come and pray.
