Toraprovider components
======================
If you use the Enterprise version of Delphi or C + + Builder, you can install the Toraprovider component separately. All you have to do is compile and install the ORAPROVXX.BPK package.
Oratools Plugin
===============
The design package ORATOOLSXX.BPL is no longer included since ODAC version 3.50. Oratools is now provided as a standalone plugin. It is installed once and can be used under Delphi and C + + Builder. But now it does not support Kylix.
Writing applications using the ODAC GUI
--------------------------
Since the ODAC version 3.80, the GUI has become one of its standard components. This means that the following GUI elements are valid: SQL cursors, connection form, connection dialog boxes, and so on. You must explicitly declare in your application that the header ODACVCL (under Linux is a ODACCLX) unit. This feature is especially useful for writing console applications under Linux.
Delphi and C + + Builder
By default ODAC does not require the unit Forms, Controls and. Except
Toraerrorhandler and Tconnectdialog components. They Require Unit Forms
And it ' s dependants by their.
Kylix
By default, the ODAC merged requires a QT library, but in addition to the Toraerrorhandler,tconnectdialog and Toraalerter components. They contain the code that relies on QT. In addition, the Smartrefresh function is prohibited from being used under Kylix. However, professional users can define macro Smart_refresh in Odac.inc to achieve Smartrefresh functionality in a Linux environment. By default, Smart_refresh macros are defined in Windows environments. But the Smartrefresh function requires QT.
Preview version Restrictions
--------------------------
The following information describes the limitations when using the ODAC preview version:
-ODAC-based design-only applications can be run in an IDE environment
-If the Net option is selected, only 6 fields can be used in Toradataset.
Using multiple products in the IDE
---------------------------------
ODAC, SDAC, and MYDAC components use public packages.
They are:
Dacxx.bpl
Dacvclxx.bpl
Dcldacxx.bpl
Note: These products are compatible only if they are provided at the same time. If you upgrade a part of an installed product, it may cause conflicts with other parts. To continue using these products at the same time, you should upgrade them at the same time.
