Suzhou-Micro Dust
The successful implementation of Odoo (OpenERP) is inseparable from the cooperation between the supply and demand teams, and good planning is the key to the smooth launch. ERP system covers a lot of content, a link is not done, it will affect the effective promotion of the whole project. This article outlines some of the concerns of the different phases of the Odoo implementation process, including the actors and the client side, for reference only.
1. Feasibility Study
Enterprises in the ERP selection, need to be clear: expected to use the ERP system to solve which business pain points? How much does Odoo standard fit with the company's business processes? If you recognize the standard version of the design ideas, feel strong usability, or add some features to meet the needs of the application, then you can consider the project.
2. Demand analysis and plan development
Comb existing business processes, analyze what Odoo's standard processes are, which are non-standard processes, what nonstandard processes can be implemented in Odoo through custom development, and which non-standard processes should be discarded. The implementation of ERP should standardize the business process as far as possible, all the non-standard process can not liberate productivity, outworn ultimately difficult to see results.
3. Custom development and testing
Custom development mainly includes interface customization, workflow customization and report customization. Odoo's elegant bottom-level architecture is sufficient for the agile development of the program to ensure that the development process is manageable, and custom development should follow the principles of iterative development and incremental delivery. Pre-delivery testing, all role users should be fully involved.
4. System deployment and basic data entry
According to the actual situation of the enterprise, choose the appropriate deployment scenario: saas/Vendor Managed/on-premises. Install the software system, initialize the setup, enter the basic data, including: Users, business partners, products, BOM, minimum inventory rules, inventory orders, beginning vouchers and so on. You should import large amounts of data through templates.
5. System on-line
Before the launch of the official version of the user manual, and the users of the Department of centralized training. can set the simulation on-line period, in this transition period, the line and the next two sets of accounts parallel, so as to help detect early detection of the omission point, and timely improvement. After the problem is fixed, put into production and bid farewell to manual account.
6. Support and Maintenance
To timely respond to user problems encountered in the process, backup data regularly, maintain the normal operation of the server, perform the necessary performance tuning to prevent downtime accidents. Whether the new version of Odoo to follow up the upgrade, should adhere to a principle: If the program has been running normally, should not blindly chase new; If you want to apply some features of the new version, you can consider upgrading, but you must first thoroughly test the test server before upgrading.
