October 2005
October 15, the OpenSolaris Beijing user group organized the first event since its inception in the meeting room of Beijing Xijiao Hotel. Although OpenSolaris officially opened the source code as early as June 14, 2005, it is the first time that such activities have been carried out in the country.
Here are some photos, because I did not expect so many people, the venue is so big, so carry the ultra-thin digital camera performance is poor. Fortunately, in the Opensoalris Beijing User group Mailing list found a few photos, plus my own, barely enough:)
At the beginning of the meeting, there is half an hour of free communication time, it is regrettable because too many people, no chance to meet new friends.
The speech starts, the auditorium is very big, lets the person have to open the report the illusion, hehe.
Look at the response of the audience ...
Wang Xingyao, dean of the Sun China Academy of Engineering, the topic is what OpenSolaris can bring to China.
Erik Nordmark, sun Distinguished Engineer, the title of the speech is Solaris networking.
This man is a Swede, and later to the United States, when the stage jokingly called his English is Swedish, I heard people under the stage, it seems Swedish Chinese really difficult to understand ah:)
Here is reprint from Sun China Technology community Erik's resume, this is true Daniel Ah
Erik has been at Sun since 1989. He has spent most of the this time on networkingcentered around IP such as IP multicast, IPV6, Web performance, Tcp/ipmultithr Eading, STREAMS, as as, significant technical work in the Internet Engineering Task Force.
