Photoshop Development 22: No product can replace it

It's been 22 years since Adobe Photoshop has been published and it's been part of the designer's life. There was a lot of controversy at the beginning of the release of the product. Some people think that this product allows people to modify the original image, may cause a lot of problems. In any case, over time, people see the good things about Photoshop getting bigger. This article gives a brief introduction to Photoshop's 22-year journey.

Origin

This was originally a small project by Thomas. He wrote a program to convert some pictures into shades of gray. This simple feature has made Thomas interested in developing more of these functions, and soon enough special effects have been created. John fully supported Thomas's idea and encouraged him to make a complete picture editor out. The two brothers improved the editor and released "Image Pro" in 1988.

They cooperated with scanner manufacturer Barneyscan, tying "Image Pro", and 200 copies were sold quickly. They immediately established a licensing partnership with Adobe, which was released in February 1990 by Photoshop 1.0.

2. Adobe Photoshop Version 2.0–1991

This version allows the user to trim the edges of the object. The engineer named Mark Hambrug developed this function. He also developed CMYK color support, a feature that makes the printing industry a user of Photoshop. It requires 4 m of memory to run.

3. Adobe Photoshop Version 2.5–1992

This is the first version released for the operating system. Although he had a memory leak, 2.5.1 soon released a fix to the problem. It can also run the son Ah MAC.

4. Adobe Photoshop Version 3.0–1994

Photoshop had a great improvement in 1994, and entered the concept of a layer (Layer). This feature makes many complex designs easier.

5. Adobe Photoshop Version 4.0–1996

The Macro and adjustment layers features were introduced in this version.

6. Adobe Photoshop Version 5.0–1998

This version also introduces two new features. One is that users can roll back their own operations multiple times. The second is an editable font.

7. Adobe Photoshop Version 5.5–1999

This release provides a "Save for Web" feature that greatly facilitates the work of web designers.

8. Adobe Photoshop Version 6.0–2000

This version allows the user to draw vector graphs, provides the layer style panel, and introduces the Muli-layer concept.

9. Introduction of Photoshop elements–2001

Because Photoshop is more and more functional, it becomes difficult for ordinary users to use it. Photoshop element is a simplified version prepared for these ordinary users.
