Environment support: Photoshop CS
Filters you want: Clouds, add noise, motion blur, texture, dry brushes
Today we're going to use Photoshop to make a text effect of a stone material. The effect starts with a few filters to make a stone texture, and then uses the text Mask tool to create the text outline, and then adds the bevel and emboss, projection layer styles to make the stone text.
1. Start Photoshop CS, create a new white canvas, set foreground color to gray, background color white, perform "filter → render → cloud" command, add cloud effect to background layer. Then execute the filter → noise → add noise command, and in the Add Noise dialog box, tick the monochrome check box to set the distribution to Gaussian distribution.
2. Perform "filter → Blur → motion blur" command, set "angle" to 0, "distance" to 999 in the Motion Blur dialog box, and then apply the Add noise filter again to keep the default settings.
3. Next, perform the "filter → texture → texture" command for the image and apply the texture filter. In the Texture dialog box, set the texture to sandstone, and the parameters for zoom and highlight depend on the canvas size. The image has a certain stone effect after the texture filter is applied, as shown in Figure 1.

4. Copy the background layer to generate a "background copy", follow the "filter → art → dry brushes" command to create a random black spot, then select the Magic Wand tool to select the white area click, then follow the "select → select similar" command, select a similar color area, and press the DEL key to delete the selected image.
5. Add the bevel and Emboss layer style to the background copy layer and set the layer blending mode to strong light, then connect the two layers together and press the Ctrl+e key to merge them together, as shown in Figure 2.

6. Copy the "background" layer, use the text Mask tool to enter text selection boxes in the image, perform the Select → deselect command to reverse the selection, press Del to delete, and then add a bevel and emboss, drop shadow layer style for the layer, as shown in Figure 3.
