Photoshop handles pictures as paper-cut art

Chinese paper-cut originated from the Han Dynasty to the northern and Southern Dynasties period, but the real prosperity is in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. Old paper-cut more in the country, with scissors hinge-oriented, paper-cut into the city, paper-cutting artists to save workers, a knife more than one blade to the carving, more sophisticated works. Today, paper-cut authoring tools are not limited to scissors and knives, we will introduce how to use Photoshop CS to make more exquisite paper-cut works.

1. Start Photoshop CS, open a picture ready to make paper-cutting effect, as shown in Figure 1.

Note: Not any picture is suitable for paper-cut effect, because the paper-cut is the traditional Chinese art, to close to the Chinese culture of flowers and birds, figures, architectural pictures mainly, so that the effect is more vivid.

2. Use the Lasso tool to create selections along the flowers and leaves in the picture, and copy and paste, and then perform the "image → adjust → go color" command to make the image black and white, and then perform the "image → adjust → reverse" command to the image, the effect is as shown in Figure 2.

3. Make sure the newly pasted layer is active, set the foreground color to white, and the background color to red. To perform the "filter → sketch → photocopy" command, open the Photocopy dialog box, in which "details" is set to 9, "dark" for 50, after applying the filter paper-cutting effect has come out, at this time select the "Brush" tool with red to some "breakpoints" to repair, finish paper-cut creation, the effect as shown in Figure 3.
