This article provides basic Photoshop brush knowledge for Photoshop beginners, which can be said to be the most important feature of Photoshop.
Find the Brush tool in the Photoshop toolbar
As follows:
Brush Preset Selector
The Brush preset selector can be previewed by clicking the drop down menu next to the Access menu.
It provides three options for controlling the brush, i.e. "size", "hardness" and "brush shape." "Size is the width-high pixel of the brush. The hardness handles the roundness of the edge of the brush, and the shape of the brush controls a variety of different brushes.
Brush mode
The pattern determines how the current brush affects the current layer. These patterns work like the blending mode options on the Layers panel. The difference is that when the brush draws at the end, the values are automatically converted to absolute value and can no longer be changed.
Opacity, flow and spray gun
The combined use of these three features explains the number of brush paints sprinkled on the canvas. Opacity is master control, which determines the amount of paint used in any area. Traffic also controls the number of strokes, but only the number of paths that the brush motions are controlled. The airbrush settings can help create a brush that is based on time rather than motion.
Some students do not understand the difference between flow and opacity, strongly recommended reading: Small white Science: traffic and opacity those things
Brush Presets
This menu keeps track of all available Photoshop brushes. Some presets only change the brush shape, and other advanced settings are available. Many brush libraries can modify their default values and then add them to the current list. We can also create our own brushes directly in PS.
You can open a preset panel by performing a window > Brush preset:
Dynamic Brush Options
Press F5 on the keyboard to open the Brush Dynamic Setup Panel. Here we can set the shape, scatter, and other options for the brush:
Try these settings to see what kind of results they bring to your brushes:
Pen pressure
This is a very convenient and practical tool. However, it can only be used on digital boards or tablets (such as Wacom Intuos). The pen pressure tracking value is based on the pressure on the tablet, and when we collaborate on the opacity and size setting, this function can be fully played when drawing.
Almost all versions of Photoshop have pen-pressure features built into it, so you can make the most of your tablet equipment.
