Rake db:create This error after connecting to MySQL with rails today
Couldn ' t create database for {"Adapter" = "MYSQL2", "encoding" = "UTF8", "Pool" =>5, "username" = "root", " Password "=>nil," "Socket" = "/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock", "Database" = "Myblog_test"}
Rake aborted!
Gem::loaderror:specified ' MYSQL2 ' for database adapter, but the gem was not loaded. Add ' Gem ' mysql2 ' to your gemfile (and ensure its version are at the minimum required by ActiveRecord).
However, after reviewing project's gemfile, I found that there are already gemfile, and after reviewing the data found that because rails version is too new, mysql2 Gemfile does not match, so this error occurred. You only need to specify the MYSQL2 version in the Gemfiel.
gem ‘mysql2‘, ‘~> 0.3.18‘
