After you create the resource pool, right-click the resource pool in the list and choose Edit Settings from the popup shortcut menu, and in the Edit Settings dialog box that pops up, you can change all the properties of the selected resource pool, and the document OK to save the changes. After the virtual machine is added to the resource pool and the virtual machine is moved to a new resource pool, the virtual machine's reservations and restrictions do not change, and if the virtual machine shares are high, medium, or low, the share percentage is adjusted to reflect the total number of shares used in the new resource pool.

Let's test the resource pool for 2 virtual machines in two different set of resource pools

In the Create Resource Pool dialog box, enter the name of the resource pool pool01. Specify the CPU share of the pool01 as normal. Drag the VM01 virtual machine to the resource pool pool01:

Create a second resource pool pool02. Specifies the CPU share as low. Drag the vm02 virtual machine to resource pool 02, and click OK to exit.

By using a script to detect the CPU, the virtual machine is running a script cpubusy.vbs that does not stop the sine operation, then the CPU performance can be tested by script output. Cpubusy. VBS script code

It is clear that vm01 virtual machine scripts run for only 1/4 of the vm02 virtual machine. This is because the CPU share is specified as normal when the share number is 8000, and when the low is only 2000,

When you create a resource pool or a child resource pool, you can reduce and extend the reservation. When a resource pool with an extensible reservation is available, the virtual machine in the pool allocates the GHz of the CPU, and if there are no redundant resources in the pool, it may cause the virtual machine to fail to obtain resources so that it cannot boot, and the system does not allow the violation of pre-configured reservations or throttling settings. Each time you reconfigure a resource pool or turn on the power of a virtual machine, all parameters are validated to ensure that the service-level guarantees are still being fulfilled.

The parent resource pool has a 6GHz reservation and a running virtual machine that is reserved for 1GHz. Create a child resource pool with 2GHz reservation, and select the extensible reservation. The child resource pool adds two virtual machines each with 2GHz reservation (that is, VM2 and VM3) and tries to turn on their power. VM2 can reserve resources directly from a child resource pool (with 2GHz). VM3 no local resources are available, so it borrows resources from the parent resource pool. The parent resource pool is existing 6GHz, minus 1GHz (reserved by the virtual machine) minus 2GHz (reserved by a child resource pool), leaving no reserved resources for 3GHz. Power up this 2GHz virtual machine with 3GHz of available resources,

However, the parent resource pool is reserved for two virtual machines with a total of 3Ghz of power. You can still open the power supply for VM3 in the child resource pool, because 2GHz is available locally. When you try to turn on VM2 Power, the child resource pool is no longer reserved for CPU capacity, so it checks its parent. The parent has only 1GHz of unreserved capacity available (the parent's 5GHz is occupied, 3GHZ is reserved by the local virtual machine, and 2GHz is reserved by the child resource pool). Therefore, the power supply for the VM2 that requires 2GHz reservation cannot be opened.
