SonicWALL Security Mode Upgrade firewall

If you cannot connect to the SonicWALL firewall's administrative interface, you can reboot the SonicWALL firewall into safemode mode. SafeMode can transform an indeterminate configuration state into a simple management interface, similar to the System->settings page, through which the firewall can be upgraded.

Steps

1. Connect pc to LAN port of firewall, set PC IP address as 192.168.168.20

2. Use a long strip of fine rods to trigger the reset button behind the firewall for 5-10 seconds. Depending on the firewall model, theReset button is located next to the console port or power supply.

Tip: If this step does not work when the power is on, switch the power switch when the reset button is triggered until the test light starts blinking (about 20 seconds), and when the test light starts flashing it means the firewall has entered SafeMode

3. Connection Firewall Management interface: Enter 192.168.168.168 in the browser and display the SafeMode management interface

4. To upgrade the new firmware version, you can click on the Upload firmware

5. Click the Boot button on the right side of Upload firmware New to reboot the firewall.
