1. Stay away from interference sources

There are too many devices in the computer that produce electromagnetic interference. CPU and video card are good at producing interference, and the sound quality of the sound card has a great relationship with the electromagnetic interference.

When installing the sound card, try to stay away from other devices and avoid interference. As long as there is no conflict between the sound card and the motherboard, the sound card should be installed in the most peripheral PCI slot. Some boards provide a special PCI slot that uses better filter capacitors. If this type of motherboard is used, this slot should be prioritized.

2. Install a shield

　

As long as the sound card is built in, you cannot avoid interference. If you need better sound quality, try shielding. In the case of a high-end monitor, we can see a metal cover that shields external interference, which is equally effective for sound cards. Now you have a ready-made shield to buy. If you cannot find a suitable one, you can also do it with your own hands. You don't need to be pretty, as long as you can pack all the sound cards. Be sure not to short circuit, metal Shielding must be grounded, otherwise it will not take any shielding effect.

3. Select the correct driver

If the sound card hardware is its skeleton, then the driver is her soul. Almost all sound card sound quality will be driven. We often hear au8830 sound card users say that Windows 98 sounds much better than windows, and we often hear live! The driver of the version discussed by the user is the best in sound quality.

4. Use software SRC to make up

Sound cards based on chips other than Crystal Series audio accelerators or via IC ensemble series I/O controllers are almost identical, and the quality of SRC is poor. We only have to wait for the manufacturers to improve the driver, you can use the auxiliary software to sacrifice some CPU usage for better sound quality.

Set the target sample rate to 48000Hz. if the machine is strong enough, the fast mode is disabled, so that the software SRC has higher quality. The software SRC algorithm is more advanced than many sound cards, so it can bring a cleaner voice. Of course, this software is not suitable for all sound cards. Some sound cards can be set to 44.1khz as the final output frequency. SRC is an integer multiple conversion, so there is no problem of too much sound quality reduction. Users who use sound cards based on Crystal Series audio accelerators or via IC ensemble series I/O controllers and emeng mx200 sound cards do not need to use this software. We recommend live! And audigy/audigy2/audigy2 Zs users.

5. Use multi-channel to play music

　

Some friends hope to make more speakers sound when playing MP3, not just the front-end outputs, although we do not recommend this. Different sound cards have different ways to use innovative live! Friends of/audigy/audigy2 are relatively simple, because the default settings of the system are suitable. However, sound cards based on other chips are not necessarily, such as cs46xx sound cards. Open the sound card driver control panel and activate the sansaura 3D item.

This step is critical, suitable for all cs46xx sound cards and sound cards of all envy24 series chips. Dual-channel distribution to multi-channel output requires the support of directsound 3D, and these sound cards need to be completed through the "sansaura 3D" application layer.

After completing the preceding settings, you can use a player that supports directsound output mode to play the video. Multiple speakers have been played. Popular Windows Media Player, Winamp, foobar2000, and RealONE all support the directsound output mode, while Winamp and foobar2000 need to be set manually.

　

How to Set Winamp 2.x: Open the preferences menu, select plug-ins/output, select directsound output, close the current window, and restart Winamp.

Foobar2000 setting method: Open the foobar2000/preferences menu, select the output menu, select directsound in the output method on the right, save the setting, and restart foobar2000.

　

　　Note: When playing a CD in cd s/pdif in or analog CD mode, you cannot use the directsound output mode. At this time, only two audio channels have sound.

6. The wonderful use of multi-channel

Many of my friends are dual-feed users of speakers and headphones, while most sound cards do not have independent earphone output. It is very cumbersome to switch Plug and Play back devices frequently, in fact, multiple channels can also connect headphones and speakers to the sound card without affecting each other. Connect the headset and the speaker to the front or back of the Sound Card, and set it according to the method described in multi-channel for playing music.

Then, in the audio card driver settings panel, choose to turn off the front or back and select the speaker or headset to enjoy music, which is very convenient. Some sound cards, such as prodigy7.1, also have the function of copying the signal of the front-end sound, which can achieve the same effect. In this way, you will no longer worry about plug plugging.

Note: Enabling multi-channel music may lock the sampling rate at 48 khz. sound cards that can bypass SRC are a huge loss in sound quality. Please use them as appropriate. 

7. solve the problem that the rear sound is too small

I often hear a friend complain that the rear sound of his sound card is too small. when watching a DVD, a low rear signal will lead to the sound field leaning forward, affecting the overall effect. In fact, this is not a sound card hardware issue, but a software setup issue.

　

Sound cards often carry positioning settings. Do you see the 2D positioning mark in the upper-right corner? By default, many sound cards use the front positioning standard, which causes the rear sound to be too small. You can simply move the 2D positioning standard to the central position.

If you connect the headset to the front end of the Speaker and the volume of the headset is too small, you can also solve this problem. When using a computer as the audio source, we do not recommend using headphones with high impedance. Even if the settings are correct, you will feel that the sound of the headphones is too small, at this time, you need to add a headset amplifier.
