VBOX network settings

VBOX network settings have finally gained a better understanding of the several modes configured in the virtual machine. The 1 Host-only connection mode allows the VM to have its own independent IP addresses different from the Host, but it is located in different network segments and adds an IP address for the Host, make sure that the IP address and the virtual machine IP address are in the same network segment. The final result is that a LAN consisting of all virtual machines and host hosts is created, but the LAN is independent from the existing LAN of the host itself. If no additional routing settings are made, the two local networks are not connected. Therefore, the newly created local network can be considered as a private network belonging to the current host, and its members are the current host and all related virtual machines, this is also the origin of Host-only naming. In terms of network technology, it is equivalent to adding a virtual network card to the host to change the host to a dual Nic host (host Nic + virtual network card ). At the same time, A vswitch is added at the backend of the host to make the host and all virtual machines form another virtual LAN. Because of the dual Nic, the host can participate in two local networks (the existing local network and the new virtual LAN) at the same time, but the two local networks are not connected by default. The 2 Bridge Connection mode allows the VM to have its own independent IP addresses different from the host, but it remains in the same network segment as the host, the final result is that all virtual machines are added to the LAN where the host is located, which is no different from adding other host hosts to the LAN. In terms of network technology, it is equivalent to adding a virtual switch to the front-end of the host, and then the host shares the switch with all virtual machines. Or simply, it can be understood as a point enhancement on the host, it has a vswitch (Virtual of course) function for the host and other virtual machines in the network segment. 3. Although the virtual machine does not have its own IP address but shares the IP address of the Host, the technology is based on the Host-only method (that is, the VM still has its own independent IP address, but it is not actually in use). Like Host-only, the Host becomes a dual-nic Host, at the same time, it participates in the existing host LAN and the new virtual LAN. However, due to the addition of a virtual NAT server, when the VM in the virtual LAN is accessed externally, the IP address of the host is completely "fraudulent". In this way, from the perspective of the external network, only the host is visible, and the new virtual LAN is invisible. The above is theoretical knowledge! ---------------- Perfect split line --------------- 1. Vbox adopts the nat mode by default. If your host can access the Internet, your VM can also access the Internet directly, configure the VBOX. 2. Select the Bridge Mode to install the bridge service. The virtual network card in the vm also has the virtual network card service. When I uninstalled vmware9, I didn't unmount the protocol. I still couldn't access the Internet one afternoon, so I had to use my mobile phone, the service is uninstalled. Note: if it affects your Internet access, you can uninstall it. If you want it again, you can install it, right-click any network connection -----> view its properties -------> install (uninstall ). 3. I select the Bridge Mode to configure the ip address of the Virtual Machine and the local network in the same ip address segment. This Nic can be disabled without any impact. After a while, it seems that the network will be disconnected, and then it will be normal again!
