When using unis to create a hot backup disk for the VNX2 generation, you cannot find the menu for creating a hot backup disk according to the VNX1 generation product creation method. How can I set a hot backup disk for the VNX 2 generation storage?
Cause analysis:
VNX2 varies greatly in terms of storage microcodes. It is different from VNX1's hot spare disk setting method, and VNX2 can choose to set a hot spare disk policy.
Solution:
VNX2 sets the hot spare disk location under uniseries in System-Hardware-Hotspare Policy, as shown in the following figure:
There are three hot backup policies:
No Hot Spare disk (No Hot Spare): all unused hard disks are Hot Spare disks;
Recommended (default) (Recommended): one hot spare disk is automatically retained for every 30 disks, which is set by default;
Custom (M): You can set a hot spare disk for each hard disk. Only the Custom policy allows you to select the number of hard disks.
