Recently, W3C set up a new webapps working organization, which is jointly chaired by Nokia's art Barstow and opera's Charles mccathienevile.
This Working Group works with W3C's previous Web APIs and web application formats working groups to develop standard APIs for client web applications, includingXmlhTtprequest APIs are used to write documents and develop new APIs for rich clients. This workgroup is part of rich client activity.
Based on the popularity of Web browsers and web engines, the Working Group will promote web applications on a wider range of devices for desktop and mobile browsers, as well as non-browser environments that use web technology, mutual operations and integration are provided between various formats such as HTML, XHTML, and SVG.
In view of the challenges they will face, the Web application workgroup hopes to find 10 or more leading companies involved in this field. In addition, the workgroup will provide necessary resources, create a test suite for each application. The Working Group also welcomes non-members to participate in their work.
