Bit: "Bit" is the smallest unit of data in an electronic computer. The status of each bit can only be 0 or 1.
Bytes: 8 bits constitute 1 "bytes", which is the basic unit of measurement for storage space. 1 bytes can store 1 English letters or half Chinese characters, in other words, 1 Chinese characters occupy 2 bytes of storage space.
Word: "word" consists of a number of bytes, the number of bits is called word length, different grades of machines have different length of words. For example, a 8-bit machine, its 1 characters equals 1 bytes, and the word length is 8 bits. If it is a 16-bit machine, then its 1 characters are made up of 2 bytes, with a word length of 16 bits. Word is the unit of computer data processing and operation.
KB: In general units of measure, K is usually 1000. For example: 1 km = 1000 m, often written as 1km;1 kg = 1000 grams, written as 1kg. Similarly, K also has a similar meaning in binary. Just then K represents 1024, which is 2 of the 10-time square. 1KB represents a 1K byte, which is 1024 bytes.
