IT management is a general term for the methodology, methods, technologies, systems, processes, and documents adopted by the enterprise IT department in the IT system operation phase.
According to the characteristics of the IT system operation stage, IT management can be divided into three parts:
◇ Operation/maintenance: This part is the core and key part of IT management and the most complex part of the content. This phase is mainly used for daily operation management within the IT department, the objects involved are divided into two parts: IT Business System and O & M personnel. The management content of this phase can be divided into seven sub-systems:
■ Device management: monitors the running status of network devices, server backups, and operating systems, and manages applications/services: monitoring and management of various application support software such as databases, middleware, group components, and various common or specific services, such as mail systems, DNS, and Web
■ Data/storage/disaster recovery management: Unified Storage, backup, and recovery of system and business data
■ Business Management: This module monitors and manages the running status of the enterprise's core business systems. For Business Management, it focuses on the CSF of the Business System (key success factor: critical success factors) and KPIs (key performance indicators)
■ Directory/content management: This part is mainly for the content management and public information management that enterprises need to uniformly publish or customize by people.
■ Resource Asset Management: manages the resource assets of various IT systems in an enterprise. These resource assets can exist physically or logically, data Interaction with the company's financial department
■ Information Security Management: This part includes many aspects. At present, information security management is mainly based on the international standard ISO17799, which covers the top 10 control aspects of information security management, 36 Control Targets and 127 control methods, such as Enterprise Security Organization, asset classification and control, personnel security, physical and environmental security, communication and operation security, access control, and business continuity management
■ Daily work management: this part is mainly used to standardize and clarify the job responsibilities and work arrangements of O & M personnel, provide quantitative basis for performance appraisal, and provide accumulation and sharing of experience and knowledge. Each subsystem of IT Operation Maintenance Management includes rich content, implementing perfect it O & M management is the key to improving the enterprise's operation level and service level. The operation/maintenance phase and service/support phase have the same line as the former for internal management of the IT department, while the latter for other personnel in the business department or enterprise or directly for customers.
◇ Service/support: At this stage, O & M personnel of the IT Department provide services and support to other personnel (internal and external), including timely response and handling of user complaints and notices, closed-Loop management of system fault discovery, notification, dispatch, supervision, solution, and feedback processes. The implementation of this part will greatly improve the IT department's service awareness and service level, standardize the service and technical support process, the line between this part and the optimization/change phase is whether the IT department's service level assessment can meet the requirements of business departments or customers. If the existing IT systems cannot meet the requirements, then it enters the optimization and change phase.
◇ Optimization/Change: This Department refers to the completion of the IT department's construction phase in IT systems, business applications, and software development, management of system optimization, software upgrade, device configuration, and management policy changes after entering the operation stage
■ Change management: it is mainly used to establish reasonable, scientific, and standardized change process management, including project initiation/change application, approval, execution, data and version consistency and continuity maintenance.
■ Service level management: evaluates the services provided by the IT department for business departments or customers by defining service level agreements, using corresponding monitoring methods, or simulating user behavior and user experience tracking, evaluates the O & M work of the IT department based on the assessment results, and evaluates whether the IT system needs to be transformed or replaced.
■ Performance/Response Management: Collects performance data of IT and business systems, locates system performance bottlenecks, diagnoses reasons for system performance degradation or instability, analyzes historical system operation data, and infers System Operation trends
