What is IMAP?
IMAP, the Internet Message Access Protocol (Internet Mail Access Protocol), allows you to obtain messages, download messages, and so on from the mail server. IMAP is similar to pop, and is a mail acquisition protocol.
What is the difference between IMAP and POP?
Pop allows e-mail clients to download messages on the server, but your actions on the e-mail client (such as mobile mail, tagged read, and so on) are not fed back to the server, such as: you collected 3 messages from your QQ mailbox and moved to another folder via your email client. These moves are not fed back to the server, which means that the messages on the QQ mailbox server are not moved at the same time.
But IMAP is different, the e-mail client's operations will be fed back to the server, you are doing the message (such as: Mobile mail, Mark Read, etc.), the server will also do the corresponding action messages. In other words, IMAP is "two-way".
At the same time, IMAP can download only the subject of the message, and only when you really need it, will download all the contents of the message.
How do I use IMAP services?
Using IMAP is very simple, first of all, you need to first in the QQ mailbox to enable the IMAP function, and then configure the client, you can use.
