You want to know why so many services are running. You browsed the task manager and saw two media players (Windows Media Player... however, you are not using a media player. what is it?
It is not like a process that occupies a lot of memory... I am annoyed because this process does not re-run myself. After I turn it off, it starts up again without knowing how to do it!
What is this service?
Media players in the same network can share some media with other computers, even with Xbox 360. even if you have not enabled the Media Player, there is also a network-shared service sharing media library. When you use this function, it is really a good thing.
These two processes are part of the Media Player sharing system. If you do not use this function, you should disable it.
Disable media sharing in a media player
The best way is to use the configuration panel... so that the media player will not run again next time or for any other reason.
Open the Media Player and select "Media sharing" from the menu of "library )".
If you are using a custom topic or you cannot find the menu for any other reason, you can open "option" and select "library )", click "Configure sharing )"
After one of the above two methods, you will see a "Media sharing" dialog box with two check boxes. Do not select them. note: If you see that they are not selected, select them, click "application", and then click "application "... return to the original settings.
In this way, you have disabled the startup Item. If you have not turned them off, continue to read them.
Disable the Media Player network sharing service in the service.
With the configuration instructions mentioned above, you don't have to do this part. If you haven't turned them off, you need to do it here.
Open the "service" in the control panel, or enterServices. MSC, Find the service in the list:
Double-click it and select "Disable ".
How to select a Registry
If you have any questions, you can further check that these two services will not be started. Open regedit.exe in the Start Menu or run dialog box, and press the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ mediaplayer \ preferences \ HME
There should be a DWORD Value called disablediscovery on the right side. You can set it to 2 (I can set it to 1), but don't set it to 0.
Make sure wmpnscfg.exe is disabled. You can view the following registry key values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
Here is where the system opens it... if there are other information about it in the list, just delete it.
