What is your third core competitiveness?

Career planning is a bit like playing cards. Some people have good cards and some people seem to have a bad card. You can win even if you have a good card. The only difference from playing cards is that you don't care too much about other people's cards and playing games. No matter what cards you are trying to manage, your goal is to win you.

What is one of your core competencies?

What is your second core competitiveness?

In the above two articles, we talked about core competitiveness and the skill requirements of cloud computing for IT personnel. This article will discuss feasible methods.

A friend commented: "I am keenly aware that this will be the era of cloud computing. What kind of quality do I need to enter the" virtualization and cloud computing "industry. What kind of knowledge do you have. What should I learn first and what should I learn? Or what kind of training organizations can recommend it to me? What kind of authentication is better? How it develops abroad.

I was inspired by an analysis report to talk about my own experiences. The three steps for success in this report are as follows:

I understand the cards in your hands (evaluate your career profile)

To put it bluntly, we should recognize ourselves from the following aspects.

Enthusiasm:This is the most important point I personally think. What do you have passion for, and what do you want to do if you don't pay for it? What makes you get up in the cold winter morning? Is it sometimes time-consuming to immerse yourself in something?

Days:Some people do have a copy in some ways, so I envy and hate a middle school student. I usually read novels. A few days before the test, my score is always among the top. Not satisfied. For example, do you show special communication skills? Is your Tianji consistent with your enthusiasm?

Life stage:Do you have just graduated from college, have you been in bottleneck for several years, or do you have to consider your family as your career choice?

Education and experience:Your educational background. What training and certification have you received? Why have you received the award? What industry do you work? What large and complex projects have you completed?

 2. What do you want to achieve (explore career choices)

A friend left a message after several previous articles: "I am a presales engineer now. My core competitiveness: In front of a technician is my sales ability, in front of the sales staff is my technology. I would like to ask you where your balance is ." You can ask me. Because I do face the same challenges, or else I am not doing well. Besides sharing my experience in reading reports over the weekend, I also encourage myself. I think the balance lies in your next career choice, with clear directions, and naturally targeted actions.

Let's talk about the different roles in the traditional IT industry first.

Sales and pre-sales support: You can use your products and services to make your customers buy money, relying on your communication and insights.

Project Manager: Commander-in-Chief of the three armies; man, money, and duration all depend on how you balance

Architect: Military Division; view the overall situation and arrange troops

Professional Personnel: General; attack the city and pull the village, you have to be unable to withstand, others have no such thing.

The number of professionals cannot be listed one by one. Such as various operating system administrators, virtualization administrators, database administrators, software developers, testers, network administrators, and storage administrators.

The above is from the project perspective. From the perspective of an enterprise, what I can think of with my personal limited experience is:

CIO/CTO: the leader of the technical team. In addition to technical capabilities, more comprehensive capabilities, such as finance, business capabilities, coordination and communication.

Department Manager: a dedicated team administrator, such as the product department, Development Department, and O & M department.

Business Analyst: Develops Analytical Business Processes and assists IT projects to achieve business value.

Of course, how many people dream of becoming a leader of independent sects.

After evaluating your career profile, you need to consider which of the above positions may be your next career choice.

 3. How do I perform the next step? (Insufficient analysis and preparation of action plans)

It is easy to give examples.

Mr. Zhang has been a technical engineer for several years. By analyzing his career profile, he thinks that presales engineers are a choice. Then you have to know why to take over the job. I think there are several points: 1. team collaboration and communication skills 2. Customer Service awareness 3. Technical Skills. How to balance the three is analyzed based on my own characteristics. I have seen very good technology before sales, and have also seen a general technology. The sense of service and communication are very good, which makes up for the technical shortcomings. They are all successful presales engineers. There is no problem with John's technology, so we need to make up for the other two relatively weak aspects. For example, you can consult with other successful pre-sales personnel, create opportunities to speak more, actively participate in discussions in the technical community, and accumulate contacts.

Mr. Li has been engaged in Operating System Management for several years and hopes to become a System Architect. I suggest several aspects. A holistic view. Have a general understanding of the products of well-known manufacturers in the industry, and have knowledge of network, storage, security, O & M, and other aspects. 2. coordinate communication. Architects need to have good communication with customers, project managers, and other engineers. The specific execution plan needs to be strengthened based on the weak links.

Mr. Wang has been working for several years and is considering whether to develop abroad. As far as my personal experience is concerned, it has a relatively fine division of labor in Western countries, especially large companies. Although the certification is relatively poor, the key is work experience and language ability. Language skills can be adapted slowly after coming out, but if you have a solid working experience in China, or take advantage of the projects you have made, it is more advantageous. At the same time, we must make the worst possible plans. In the short term, you cannot find a professional job, how to transition, and so on. At the same time, going abroad is a big choice in life, not just from the perspective of career development.

Summary

There is no absolute good or bad card, and the definition of success also varies from person to person. As long as we work hard, we have a clear conscience, right?
