What if the printer is garbled or does not print?
Answer: The following steps can be used to determine the fault:
1, the printer self-test: The printer alone, put a piece of paper, and then let the printer self-test (can refer to the use of the manual), to observe whether the printing results are normal. If the self-test page of the printer is printed correctly, this indicates that the internal circuit and mechanical parts of the printer are working properly.
2, the printer and host connection, boot into pure MS-DOS, at the DOS prompt input: dir>prn and then enter. At this point, if the line is normal, the printer will print out the contents of the DIR command, indicating that there is no problem with the interface circuit of the printer.
3, the replacement with the shielding layer of high-quality printing cable, check whether the wiring problems.
4, check the host's port mode settings are appropriate (refer to question 6 description) 5, under the Windows operating system, the original printer driver removed, reinstall the printer driver. When the printer driver is installed, click the Print test Page button in the printer properties. If the printed test page is normal, there is no problem with the printer, because the original driver program was not installed correctly.
6, if the printer's driver is installed normally, but still can not print, then should detect whether the printer has been suspended.
7, check the current simulation settings of the printer and the system's current printer driver mode, the printer simulation settings and operating system drivers must match the use, otherwise because of the compatibility of the instructions and the printing code garbled.
8. Check to see if there is a problem with the application.
9, the replacement of a host for testing.
