The question of the header and footer and page number in a Word document. For example, how can we avoid the header and footer on the cover? How to make the headers and footers of different chapters different? How does one make the Directory and body have different page numbers?
In fact, you only need to insert a segmentation character and divide the document into several sections. You can separately set the page margins, page directions, headers, footers, page numbers, and other formats for each section.

1.1How to insert a delimiter

Place the cursor at the end of the last section or at the beginning of the next section. Choose "insert"> "separator" from the Operation menu to bring up the "separator" dialog box. Click a "Node break type" and click "OK". A node break is inserted at the cursor, and the document is divided into two sections by the node break. You can further divide the Section into several sections as needed.

Click "View"> "normal" in the menu. You can see the subscriber in the general view. Select the subscriber and press the "Del" key to delete the subscriber. After the subscriber is deleted, the original two sections are merged into one section.

If the selected delimiter type is "next page", the text after the Delimiter is moved to the next page, and the next page becomes the beginning of a new section. This is the most common method. If the selected delimiter type is "continuous", the text after the Delimiter is not moved to the next page. The new delimiter starts on the page. If the selected delimiter type is "Even page" or "odd page ", the text after the Delimiter is moved to the next even page or odd page and becomes the start of a new section.

If a Delimiter is inserted at the beginning of the first line of a page, the effect of the delimiter type on "next page" or "continuous" is no different, this page is the beginning of the new section.

1.2Make different parts of the document have different headers and footers

If you want a document's directory page and body page to have different headers and footers, perform the following steps.

(1) Insert a delimiter at the beginning of the first line of the body. You can select "Next" or "continuous" as the delimiter type.

(2) Place the cursor on the directory page, and choose "View"> "header and footer" to bring up a "header and footer" toolbar and a header editing box.

In the toolbar, "Show next item", "show previous item", "switch between header and footer", "link to previous item", and "show/ hide the document text, page settings, insert time, insert date, set page number format, insert page number, and insert page number buttons. Click "show next" to edit the header and footer of the next section. Click "Show last item" to edit the header and footer of the previous section, click "switch between the header and footer" to edit the header or footer. Click "link to the previous" to check whether the header and footer in this section are the same as those in the previous section.

After editing the header of the Directory page according to your intention, click "switch between the header and footer" and edit the footer.

Click "show next item" to edit the footer of the text. The footer is the same as the footer of the Directory page, however, in the upper-right corner of the editing box, the words "Same as the previous section" are displayed,Click "link to the previous" and the text disappears. Then, you can edit the footer of the text as a different directory.

Click "switch between the header and footer" to enter the edit status of the header of the body. You also need to click "link to the previous one" to edit the header of the body again.

Click "close" to exit the edit of the header and footer.

1.3How to delete the header and footer

Double-click the header or footer in the document to enter the editing status of the header and footer. You can edit the page and footer again to change the appearance of the header and footer. In the editing status, delete all content in the header and footer. Then, choose "format"> "style and format" from the menu, and click "clear format" in "style and format ", finally, click "OK" in the "header and footer" toolbar. After exiting the editing, the header and footer are completely deleted.

1.4How to delete the horizontal line in the header

In general, there is a horizontal line in the header. There are two ways to delete this horizontal line. One is to edit the status of the header, and choose "format"> "style and format" from the menu ", click "clear format" in "style and format", and select "format"> "border and shading" in the edit status of the header ", on the border tab, select "NONE" in "Settings" and select "section" in "Apply ".

1.5Make different parts of the document have different page number formats

If a document contains several page directories, several page summaries, and several page bodies, the directory must not contain page numbers ......, The page numbers of the body are 1, 2, 3 ...... Perform the following steps.

(1) Insert a delimiter at the beginning of the row on the first page of the abstract and the first page of the body.

(2) Place the cursor on the summary page, choose "insert"> "page number" from the menu, and click "format" in the "page number" dialog box, select "I, ii, iii..." in "digit format ......", Select "start page number" for "page number Arrangement", select "I" for the value, and click "OK" twice. The summary contains the page number starting with "I.

(3) Place the cursor on the body page, choose "insert"> "page number" from the menu, and click "format" in the "page number" dialog box, select "1, 2, 3..." in "Number Format ......", Select "start page number" for "page number Arrangement", select "1" for the value, and click "OK" twice. The page number starting from "1" is inserted in the body.

(4) double-click the page number on the summary page and click the "link to the previous" button on the pop-up header and footer toolbar to remove the "same as the previous section" in the upper-right corner of the editing box.

(5) double-click the page number of the Directory page and select it to delete it.

The footer is automatically created when the page number is inserted. These pages are added to the footer. Double-click the page number to enter the footer editing status. You can further edit the page number, for example, you can modify the font, font size, and position of a page number, or even delete a page number.

1.6Make different parts of the document differentWatermark

You can add the watermark to the document by using the "format"> "background" menu. However, you can only add the Same watermark pattern to each page of the document. If you need to add different watermark patterns on the directory and body pages, you can only insert the patterns in the header or footer.

(1) Insert a delimiter at the beginning of the first line of the body.

(2) Place the cursor on the directory page, add the header and footer in the "View"> "header and footer" menu, and edit the status in the header, choose "insert"> "image"> "from file" from the Operation menu to insert the selected image into the header.

Right-click the image and click "set image format". In the "set image format" dialog box, select "below text" in the "layout" tab ", on the "size" tab, adjust the image size. After exiting the dialog box, drag the image to the center of the page.

Right-click the image, click "display 'image' toolbar", click the "color" tool on the toolbar, and click "erosion ". Click "close" in the upper-right corner of the "image" toolbar to close the "image" toolbar.

(3) Click "show next" on the "header and footer" toolbar to edit the header on the body page, and click "link to previous" on the toolbar ", click the background image after the words "the same as the previous section" in the upper-right corner of the editing box disappear and press "Del" to delete the image.

Choose "insert"> "image"> "from file" from the Operation menu to insert the selected image into the header.

In the same way as step 2, set the Image Layout to "bottom of text", adjust the image size, drag the image to the appropriate position in the middle of the page, and set the color to "erosion ".

Click "close" on the "header and footer" toolbar to exit the header editing status.

2, Word2007 {domain editing-to show the total number of pages} does not contain the cover directory as an example, how to display a valid page

When page number is inserted in the format of X/Y (the total number of pages can be displayed only when page number X/Y is inserted ),WORD2007 sets Y to the number of all pages of the document by default, that is, its domain is NUMPAGES (ALT + F9 can be seen ). In WORD editing, a document contains the cover, abstract, directory, and body. However, sometimes Y only needs to include the body content. What should we do?

Because the number of pages that cover, abstract, and directory usually occupy is less, you can control it by editing the domain:

Suppose you have inserted an X/y PAGE number and pressed ALT + F9. Then, the domain code {PAGE}/{NUMPAGES} is displayed }. Hover the mouse over {NUMPAGES} and press CTRL + F9. {NUMPAGES} will become {NUMPAGES }}. In actual operation, the gap between {or} is relatively large. When you press the Left or Right key to move the mouse, you will find that there is still a character position between {or. Keep the mouse in this position and edit the domain code you want, such as {PAGE}/{= {NUMPAGES}-unwanted-page }. In this way, if your document has 90 pages and 10 unwanted-pages, you will find that 8/90 has changed to 8/80.

Note the following two points for domain Editing:

1) {} The symbol pair is not produced by manual hitting and must be generated using CTRL + F9 (it cannot be copied directly, which will cause a syntax error)

2) The gap between braces is not editable anywhere. You must insert your edits into an empty character in the braces; otherwise, the domain code becomes invalid.

3) Replace unwanted-page with the number of pages you want to subtract

Of course, the above example provides a better solution. You can set the text as a section, edit the field, and replace the original NUMPAGES with SECTIONPAGES, which may be more convenient, you do not need to calculate the number of pages occupied by other sections. The section mentioned here is the concept in WORD editing, not the section mentioned when the chapter is broken.
