The Yahoo Companion toolbar first collects Web Rank (tm) to activate the user's anonymous URL data for the site, and then returns it to Yahoo to help Web Rank (tm) determine the rating of the site. According to Yahoo, the new toolbar will not collect user's personal confirmation information, such as name, telephone number, address and email address.
After the anonymous URL data is sent to the Yahoo Server, the companion toolbar returns the Web Rank (TM) rating, which is a single measure of the popularity of the page, or the popularity score of the page you are visiting.
The Yahoo Companion toolbar has a small button that shows the rating of Web Rank (TM) on the site being visited. The score range is 1 to 10. The Yahoo Web Rank (TM) score is calculated using the scoring formula developed by Yahoo Labs to measure the popularity of web pages and websites that users visit.
The Yahoo Web Rank (TM) toolbar is very simple to install. With the help of the Yahoo Companion toolbar, users can choose whether to activate the Web Rank (TM) feature. If you want to use this scoring feature, just select the Install with Web Rank button on the new toolbar. This installation process takes only 2 minutes and is therefore very convenient.
After installation, if you change your mind again, you can also turn off the scoring function. The method is still simple: on the Yahoo Companion toolbar, click the "Toolbar Settings" button, remove the "Enable Web Rank" option is OK. After that, the companion toolbar stops collecting anonymous URL data, and Web Rank (TM) loses its scoring function.
