ZBrush Subtool Use method

first, the basic use of Subtool:

Subtool panel position in the tool panel Subtool, we open this panel will find that this panel and the photosop of the layers are similar, in fact not but similar, in the operation is somewhat similar, This is a good thing for a friend who has used Photoshop because it's not unfamiliar with the operation.

1. Operate the subtool of the current layer

The Subtool on the current layer is highlighted on the model, while the Subtool panel has a less visible black frame, as shown above. When manipulating the subtool of the current layer, the subtool of the other layers is unaffected.

2.SubTool Hidden and displayed

Click the Eye button on the edge to hide or show the tool. But the operation here is divided into two types:

A. If you click on the eye flag of the current layer, all subtool except the current layer tool will be hidden.

B. If you click an eye flag that is not in the current layer, the tool for that layer is hidden, and the subtool of the other layers will remain displayed.

3. The two arrows shown below (above) are used to select the current layer up or down, and we usually use the mouse directly to select it, so it is not very useful.

4. The arrows in the two corners shown in the following figure (above) are used to change the order of the current layer in the whole layer up or down, and each point moves the position up or down one level.

Ii. How to add and remove a subtool?

1. Add a subtool to the layer

You must first transfer the model you want to transfer into the tool panel, then press the Append button as shown in the pop-up panel to select the model you have previously transferred into.

2. Remove a subtool from the layer

Switch the current layer to the layer of the tool you want to remove, and then press the Delete button as shown, which will be deleted directly.

Iii. How to copy and Mirror Subtool?

1. Copy Subtool

Switch the current layer to the subtool that you want to copy, press Tool>clone, and then press Tool>subtools>append to select the cloned tool from the Panel that pops up.

2. Mirror Subtool

Make sure the current layer is where you want the mirroring tool to be, press Tool>eformation>mirror (Note A: Confirm that you have selected the correct axis when you press the Mirror button.) Select or X, Y, or Z. Note B: If the tool is not mirrored at multiple levels, the solution is to remove the image after the subdivision history and then reconstruct the subdivision. )

Four, Subtool color and material:

Give the Subtool different colors and textures.

Divide the separate model into Subtool:

1. Segmentation of Subtool by hidden operations

A. Hide the part of the model that does not need to be split.

B. Press the split button to complete the split. (Note that the segmented model cannot have multiple subdivisions of history, if you please delete the subdivision history).

2. Split Subtool by grouping operations

A. Divide the different parts of the model into different polygon groups (you can see how the models are grouped by pressing SHIFT+F).

B. By pressing Grpsplit, the model is split into different subtool layers in different groups.
