The release frequency is obviously an important factor, 35% of respondents said it was because the article published too Fast and unsubscribe, 28% said the article published too slow and unsubscribe. I guess the reason may be that stopping the updated feed doesn't bother the reader (in Google Reader a pattern you won't see the inactive feed unless it's updated).
The output of the digest is not liked, and 24% of respondents said they would unsubscribe from feeds that only output summaries.
The blog changes Research direction and topic is also a focus, 22% of people give up the subscription because of this reason.
What's interesting about the content is that I find that people don't care much about the quality, the content and the nature of the article. The form and number of updates are major factors, and content becomes a secondary factor.
