Define local site

To create a website in Dreamweaver, you must define a local site, which is a folder anywhere on your computer. It must be defined to tell Dreamweaver where your files are stored. Dreamweaver then sets all the settings for this address.

The specific operations are as follows:

1. Press F8 to open the Site window and select the Define Sites item from the Site drop-down list.

2. Select New button on the right of the pop-up site definition dialog window to define a New site.

3. make sure that Local Info is the active item in the left column of the new Site definition window. In the dialog box on the right, enter the Site name (My Site in this example ), click the Folder icon on the right of the Local Root Folder box to search for and select a Folder on your hard disk.

(If you already have a website, you can select this site folder to import the original site to Dreamweaver to manage it using Dreamweaver ).

4. Click OK and the local site definition is complete. Dreamweaver will automatically import all files and information of the site. You can view it in the local Site window in the Site window.
