Google Sitemaps is a Google tool related to website administrators. It is a bit like the RSS feature of BLOG and a convenient service. If you (all the information sources on the Internet) if Google uses this method to submit its own updates, it will no longer need to send so many crawlers to go around. Any site, as long as there are updates, google will be automatically "notified" to facilitate Google indexing.
I initially used Google Sitemaps, which is very simple to use.
First, create a file named google11e5844324b7354e.html on the root directory of the website. The file itself can be empty. Click the Verify button on the Google Sitemaps homepage. Google will verify this file. If the verification succeeds, Google will display a verified status and provide a link pointing to the user's website statistics. After verification, you can click the link on the "website overview" page to view the statistics of your website at any time.
Next, create the Sitemaps file. Sitemaps files are in XML format. Google recommends using files in Sitemaps protocol format. However, you can use blog rss or even plain text files. The XML Sitemaps format is actually quite simple. It is recommended that you convert it to the XML Sitemaps format in a few minutes before submitting it to Google. The Sitemaps protocol is a variant of XML and is used to summarize Sitemaps information related to Web capture tools. You can add a "tip" for each URL (for example, the last modification date and approximate change frequency ). The Sitemaps protocol starts with the <urlset> start tag and ends with the </urlset> end tag. Each url contains a <url> entry marked as the parent. Each <url> parent tag contains a <loc> sub-tag entry. <Loc> is the URL of a webpage file. This URL should start with http and contain less than 2048 characters. <Lastmod> indicates the last modification date of the file. This date can be deleted, for example, YYYY-MM-DD. Other options can be left empty.
Automatically generate Sitemaps URL: http://sitemap.iamzz.com/
Finally, enter your generated Sitemap address (for example, My http://www.williamlong.info/sitemap.xml) on the Google Sitemaps commit page and submit it.
After a few hours, log on to Google Sitemaps to view the function menu.
Google Sitemaps also provides a description report on users' Website access by Google Spider, such as query statistics, capture statistics, Web analysis, and index statistics. "Query Statistics" lists several popular search keywords that enter your website. In "capture statistics", you can see that Google Spider crawls website summary statistics and captures incorrect addresses. Enables information interaction between the website owner and Google Spider.
The access address for Google Sitemaps is http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps.
