PDF file generation method

Aodbe acrobat has a PDF printer, which can easily convert printed documents into PDF format for printing where there is a printer, or share it with others online. Acrobat is a commercial software that is very expensive and can be undertaken by non-ordinary consumers.

But it doesn't matter. We have the same outstanding free solution: install Adobe's postscript (PS) printer driver to print to PS, ghostscript can convert PS files to PDF files, while redmon can redirect printer ports to ghostscript to complete the entire PDF printing process. Besides, these three tools are free of charge.

Availability

Redmon works under Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0, 2000 and XP.

Redmon version 1.7 can be downloaded from http://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/ghostgum/redmon17.zip. translations (possibly incomplete) for German, French, and Swedish are also available. source code is wrongly ded. the redmon licence requires that you include the source if you redistribute redmon.

Method 1:

Software used: afpl ghostscript; afpl gsview; afpl redmon; Adobe universal postscript Windows Driver (available on the Adobe website); Apple color LW 12/660 ps printer driver (Windows built-in)

Step: install the software:

1. Install ghostscript (a PS-to-PDF and PS File Viewing environment/Runtime Library is provided)

Installation path: C: \ Program Files \ GS \ gs9.02

2. Install gsview (PS/EPS/pdf viewer). (You can view the PS file after installation ...)

3. Install redmon (a port redirection intermediary is provided). redmon automatically converts the output PS file to a PDF file through ghostscript;

4. install Adobe universal postscript Windows Driver (a new printer generic postscript printer will appear );

5. Install the apple color LW 12/660 ps printer in "Control Panel" => "printer and fax" (although you have not installed hardware );

Select "redirected port", which is the conversion port created by redmon. enter the port name. The default value is "rptx", and X is the numerical number, starting from 1. if this is not available, create a redirected Port"

Now you should have two "printers" in the control panel ".

Apple color LW 12/660 PS and generic postscript printer

N color PDF File

Apple's PS printing Driver (Apple color LW 12/660 PS) is printed with the "print to file" option. Fill in the output file name (. ps) to get the PS file in color.

Settings:

Select Apple color LW 12/660 PS: Open the "properties" window, go to the "Port" Page, select "add Port ",

Select rpt1 from the port selection box, and select "Configure port". Change the following options:
1. in the "redirect this port to the program" basket, enter the complete path of "gswin32c.exe", for example, "C: \ Program Files \ GS \ gs9.02 \ bin \ gswin32c.exe" (without quotation marks ).
2. "argument for this program are: "-Q-dnopause-dbatch-dsafer-r600-sdevice = export write-soutputfile =" % 1 "-C save Pop-F-" (without quotation marks ).

3. Select "promt for FILENAME" for "output"

Directly use the Adobe PS printing Driver (generic postscript printer), check the "print to file" option during printing, and fill in the output file name (. ps) to obtain the black and white PS files;

Add Port

Then, click Configure port:

In the "redirect this port to the program" basket, enter the complete path of "gswin32c.exe", for example, "C: \ Program Files \ GS \ gs9.02 \ bin \ gswin32c.exe" (without quotation marks ).

Copy the line above. Note that the minus sign cannot be saved. For the meanings of these parameters, see the help of ghostscript. Set output to prompt for filename, run to hidden, and run as user.

You can use the same method to create a printer using the Adobe PS driver as the main body, but only black and white PDF can be printed.

In addition, the rptx ports of the two virtual printers must be different in port x.

Finally, open a ppt and use the apple color LW 12/660 PS and generic postscript printer experiments to produce PDF files ..

Method 2:

1. add port: Open the Properties window of the ps printer (generic postscript printer) that has just been installed, add a port under the "Port" tab, and select the middle redirect port (redirected port ), click "New Port" and enter the port name, for example, "redport ".

2. Configure port: select the port you just added and click "Configure port" to set the redmon attribute. Enter the gswin32c.exe location of the just-installed ghostscriptin the most detailed box. Enter the following program parameters:
-Q-sdevice = export write-r600-dnopause-dsafer-spapersize = A4-dbatch-soutputfile = "% 1"-C. setmediawrite-f-

3. test: Use "Print test page" in the "Printer properties" dialog box to test the function. A "Create File" dialog box appears, that is, select the location of the output PDF file, open it to view some printer information.

If a strange phenomenon occurs on the machine, the order will be reversed when multiple pages are printed, and the last page goes to the very beginning. At this time, you need to modify the printer settings, set the order to "forward from the back ". To avoid setting each printing time, you can configure it in "Print Preferences" in the printer properties.

You can set the TrueType font download option in the advanced options of Adobe ps printer to achieve the best effect.

If you want to use the environment without the corresponding TrueType font, you must replace it with the device font; otherwise, the software font will be downloaded. The TrueType font can be downloaded as a bitmap or profile. The latter is recommended for good results. The default automatic mode is also available to determine the download mode based on the font size.
