In the Telnet server service, we have certain requirements on its session settings. In the previous article, we briefly introduced this part. Here we will explain the number of sessions that can be supported at the same time. The system versions we studied are WIN2008 and Vista.
Configure the number of concurrent sessions supported
Application to: Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista
You can use the following procedure to change the number of Telnet sessions that the Telnet server service will support.
By default, the Telnet server supports two simultaneous connections.
Membership or equivalent identity in the Local Administrators Group is the minimum requirement to complete this process.
To change the number of ports used by the Telnet server
At the command prompt, type the following, and then press Enter:
Tlntadmn [\ server] config maxconn = Number:
\ Server
The name of the computer on which the Telnet server is to be connected at the same time. If this parameter does not exist, the command runs based on the Telnet server service installed on the local computer.
Config maxconn = Number
Specify the maximum number of connections. You must specify this number as a positive integer smaller than 10 million.

Other considerations
Tlntadmn.exe must run at the command prompt opened by running the "run as administrator" option. If you do not run it at the command prompt for permission escalation, you will receive the "Access Denied" message.
The Tlntadmn.exe tool is installed with the Telnet server, so it may not appear on the computer where the Telnet server is not installed.
Run the following command to determine the number of connections supported by the Telnet server:
Tlntadmn [\ server]
Windows displays multiple current settings, including the current maximum number of connections.
