Shutter is a third-party-provided tool that runs on Ubuntu, relative to the system's own tools (which can be started by default with CTRL + Shift + Print shortcut), the biggest advantage is that you can instantly edit the image, make some marks and text annotations on the image, etc. It is convenient to use. On Ubuntu 16.04, the software works fine, when the operating system is upgraded to 18.04, after you start shutter you will find that the original Edit button is not available. Click the Edit button to indicate that the Libgoo-canvas-perl Library is missing. It seems that we have to manually load the library that the software relies on.
Follow the steps and links below to download and install the required packages (note that Ubuntu 18.04 is available in 64-bit versions only).
- Download and double-click Install Libgoocanvas-common Package: Libgoocanvas-common
- Download and install the LIBGOOCANVAS3 package: LIBGOOCANVAS3
You can also choose to install using the Gdebi Package Installer (available in Ubuntu software) or run the following command on the terminal (which can be opened with CTRL + ALT + T shortcut) to complete the installation:
sudo dpkg-i ~/downloads/libgoocanvas3_1. 0.0 sudo Install
- Finally, download and install the Libgoo-canvas-perl package: Libgoo-canvas-perl
The installation can also be done via Gdebi, or at the terminal via the following command:
sudo dpkg-i ~/downloads/libgoo-canvas-perl_0. . sudo Install
Finally, remember to close the running shutter window and kill the process, restart the shutter before you can!
