Wordpress wp Super Cache plugin installation tutorial

There are many WordPress static Cache plug-ins. Now we will talk about the basic usage of a very common static Cache plug-in WP Super Cache, including plug-in installation settings and disabling deletion of Cache.

This plug-in is always on the homepage of the Wordpress background plug-in installation page. We can see that it is one of the most recommended plug-ins officially.

Install the WP Super Cache plug-in

First, go to the wordpress background and find the "plugins"-> "installed plugins" plug-in. You can view the plug-in currently in use and click "Add New" to install the New plug-in, as shown in the following figure:

Click the Search Plugins plug-in the figure above to Search for the plug-in. Then, you will see the following page:

Click Install Now to Install the current plug-in. After the plug-in is installed, you can activate the plug-in and perform related operations.

Then, after activating this plug-in, you can go to Setting on the management page in the background?> Set WP Super Cache, as shown in the following figure:

By default, WP Super Cache is not enabled. Therefore, you need to select the first one, that is, Caching On, and then click Update Status to enable the plug-in.

After the WP Super Cache plug-in is enabled, you will see several other options: Advanced (Advanced options), as shown in the figure below

Here we mainly set the file cache method, for example, whether to access static files through Mod Rewrite. If you do not know which one to choose, as long as it is Recommended (Recommended) all options are available.

CDN option: your website may use too many static files. Another website or content delivery network usually provides static files such as images, Javascript and CSS files. Therefore, this plug-in replaces the URL provided below on your website with the wp content on the website and links in the wp inclusion Directory (except for the PHP file ).

Preload: it will help you cache every page or article on your website. It is an unknown way to open the cache page for common SpuerCache static files, and it will also help you increase Google's ranking.

Plugins: the cache plug-in also supports additional plug-ins. You can set these plug-ins on this page, which is generally unavailable.

Notes

Do not enable Compress pages so they're served more quickly to visitors. (Recommended) this option, because it has been compressed by default, it may be garbled once again, but it increases unnecessary losses and slows down.

Plug-In settings

I. Preparations

Ensure that the wp-content directory has read and write permissions, because the generated cache files will be stored in this directory. Use the Ftp client to log on to the space, right-click the wp-content directory property, and set the permission to 755.

At the same time, ensure that the Wordpress root directory of the wp-config.php and. htaccess file also has write permissions, it is best to wp-config.php and. htaccess file for a backup.

2. Plug-in settings

Go to the plug-in settings page. The plug-in supports multi-language including simplified Chinese.

Go directly to the "advanced" settings tab page of the plug-in, and check all the options marked with "recommended". In addition, "when a page has a new comment, only refresh the cache of the page" is selected.

We recommend that you set the cache timeout value to "0" and manually clear the cache if necessary.

Other tab settings page, no need to set.

If you do not know what other unrecommended options are, do not try.

Note that there are three cache modes:

Mod_rewrite cache mode. (Recommended)
PHP Cache mode.
Traditional Cache mode.

If you choose a non-recommended mod_rewrite cache mode, the cache effect is normal, and you do not need to use the cache plug-in.

3. Update rules

After the configuration is complete, click the update button, and you will be prompted to click the "update Mod_Rewrite rule" button. Scroll down to find the button and click.

The plug-in automatically writes rules to the wp-config.php and. htaccess file in the Wordpress root directory.
Clear Cache and disable plug-ins

1. Clear cache

You can regularly and manually clear Cache files, open the WP Super Cache plug-in settings page, click the "content" tab, and click "delete Cache ".

2. Disable the plug-in

Repeat the previous step and click the "Advanced" tab to cancel "enable cache to accelerate access. (Recommended), and click the "update" button below,

3. Completely delete the plug-in

Repeat the preceding two steps and go to the plug-in page to disable and delete the WP Super Cache plug-in.

When you delete the WP Super Cache plug-in normally, the modified and created Cache folders of the previous plug-in will be deleted, but there may be exceptions. Therefore, log on to the Ftp client and use the wp-config.php and. the htaccess file overwrites the files of the same name in the Wordpress root directory, and deletes the cache folder in the wp-content directory. In this way, the cached files can be completely detached and deleted.

In addition, we recommend that you install the web page compression plug-in Autoptimize, which is used together with WP Super Cache to further speed up web page opening. When setting the Autoptimize plug-in, you only need to check "optimize HTML code and optimize CSS code". For other default values, do not check "optimize JavaScript code". Otherwise, some functions of the subject will become unavailable. Remember!
