First of all, we need to know that we are talking about the personal homepage, said professional point, should be said to be a personal website. How to say, because a website, is composed of many pages, pictures and so on, we said the homepage, in fact, refers to the first page of this site. For example, back home, first you will enter the living room (the living room is equal to the homepage), the living room has a lot of decorations (decoration is equal to the content of the homepage), after resting in the living room, you will do other things, such as into the kitchen to cook (the kitchen is equal to your site in the second page And the kitchen will have a lot of utensils (kitchen utensils are equal to the content of the second page in the website). So repeatedly, there are bedrooms, toilets, balconies and so on, your site will have a third page, fourth, fifth, or even thousands of. Does that make sense to you? A website is equal to a home. Of course, our house is not open a big hotel, not so many rooms:

What about this family? We first run Frontpage2000 and select "New → site" in the menu bar of the control window (Figure 1).

(Figure 1)

(Figure 2)

In the next pop-up window you can see Figure 2. Frontpage2000 has some web templates (meaning to do what it means), we generally do not use these templates, we select "Empty site" in the template selection window on the left, and then in the right "options, specify the location of the new site" in the folder you want to save the site's address. Typically, the first time you use Frontpage2000, it automatically generates a new site, saved in the My Documents ' my Webs folder. You can also re-establish a folder as a repository for your site. We are here to say that the folder that holds the Web site is the Web site folder or the home folder.

Set up a new site and you'll find that Frontpage2000 's title bar becomes "C:\My Documents\My Webs", which means you've opened a Web site. Perhaps you have also created other sites, we can open the other site through the "file → open site" in the Frontpage2000 menu bar (Figure 3).

(Figure 3)

(Figure 4)

In the pop-up window, select the folder address to save the site (Figure 4), and then press "open" button to open.
When Frontpage2000 is generally running, it opens a site that has recently been edited. Sometimes you don't want to edit this site and click the "file → close site" menu bar to close it.

Create a good new site at the same time you press the control window of the button inside
Open Folder List or go to the Web folder to look at, is not more than two new folders? A folder called "Images" is for us to save the image files on this website, before you make the page, you save the pictures you want to use. There is also a folder called "_private", and later you will find in the "Images" folder or folders appear many like "_vti_cnf" and other inexplicable folders, in fact, this is the system used to do the cache folder, we do not think it is rubbish to delete it, useful, Don't delete it.

For ease of management, you can also add some folders to save other content, such as adding a folder called "Webs" to save other pages of the site so that you don't feel cluttered.

There are two ways to add a folder, the first way is to close the Frontpage2000 first, and then to the site folder to create a new folder, built and then rerun Frontpage2000 you press the control window to press the button
List of open folders to see, you will find a new folder. Another approach is to add directly to the Folder List (Figure 5).

Note here that all the added folders, or all of the things that are stored in the folder, must be named in English. Otherwise, there will be a connection error that cannot be browsed. In a word, all the things in the website are in English name:

(Figure 5)

(Figure 6)

Of course, you can also delete some files or folders from the site, the specific approach and create a new folder almost, we practice more.

Here, perhaps you will think what the home page, what the second home page, what the homepage is not a website or anything, confused. So you can take a look at Figure 6, so you can understand a little: or this explains: the "Master folder" in Figure 6 is the home, "main file" is the living room, of course, there are many master files. But you have to remember that a website's real home page name must be "index.htm" or "index.html", is also the only, why do the author will explain later. and "subfolder" refers to the home kitchen, "sub-file" refers to the kitchen decoration or utensils. Also you can have a lot of "subfolders" and "Sub Files".

Does that make sense?

, so far we've learned to create a site and manage it. In the next lecture, we will learn to make the first page in the website, do not miss:

Points:
1 of the pictures used in the Web site must be saved in the Site folder (home folder).
2 the folder "_private" "_vti_cnf" inside the website folder do not delete.
3 Master in the website folder new or delete subfolders.
