Full introduction to converting VM access to MSSQL (Graphic tutorial)

Many systems developed with ASP can also support ms SQL databases. However, many netizens do not know how to convert the original access database into a ms SQL database. Based on the author's experience in converting the maxz movie system, the conversion method is hereby announced for everyone to share.

I. Basic Prerequisites
1. Your VM supports ms SQL. You must first learn from the VM provider whether the VM you purchased supports ms SQL. Generally, the host provider will tell you the following ms SQL information after you purchase a Virtual Host:
Database Host IP Address: 218.5.xx.xxx
Database Name: xxxxxx
Database username: xxxxxx
Database Password: XXXXX
Database space: xx
If your VM supports ms SQL, but you do not know the above information, please first ask the host provider.
2. You have to install the SQL Enterprise Manager on your computer (Please click to download the practical green software without installation );
3. Internet access conditions (needless to say ).

Ii. Settings
Make the following preparations before starting the conversion:
1. download the latest Access database to be converted from the server. In the maxz movie system, if you do not change the name of the database, the database is named datas. asp under the INC directory. After downloading it to your local computer, right-click the file name of datas. asp and rename it to datas. MDB. In this way, you have prepared the original Access database to be converted. Remember the storage location.
2. In the SQL Enterprise Manager --sqlgreemgmtfolder where you download and decompress the file, click gsqlgreen edition manager →““gsqladmin.exe ", and connect to the local SQL Server. After startup:

3. Go to the key configuration page.Program: In the menu bar of the "SQL Green Edition manager" window, click "Tools". In the displayed window, right-click "Enterprise Manager" and choose "Register-Enterprise Manager ", click "Register-Enterprise Manager ":

After the DOS window disappears automatically, click "Enterprise Manager" and start SQL Server Enterprise Manager:

4. Right-click the SQL server group shown in, and click "create SQL Server Registration ...", In the subsequent window, click "Next ":

Enter the IP address or name of your ms SQL database host in the space below "available servers" in the new window (as described in the first basic prerequisite ). Enter the IP address and click "add" below to add the IP address to the server. Click "Next" below ":

5. Select the SQL Server Authentication items as shown in the following figure, and then click "Next ":

6. Fill in the username and password of your ms SQL database in the new window:

9. If none of the above operations are correct, a window will pop up after the Server registration is successful. Now, the configuration is complete and you can enter the conversion phase.

Iii. Conversion
After the configuration is successful, return to SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Your ms SQL database name (IP address or database name) appears in the SQL server group ). Click the database name in the SQL server group, import data in "Data Conversion service" under "Tools" at the top, and click "Next ",

select Microsoft Access in the displayed window and click Next. Congratulations! The conversion is coming soon!
