Gargoyle Router QoS application instance-one computer performs P2P applications while the other computer plays online games smoothly

(I didn't find a Chinese tutorial on Gargoyle Router QoS. Therefore, based on my immature understanding of QoS, I would like to share my experience as follows: mistakes and omissions are inevitable, so don't laugh)

In a 4 MB downstream, kb upstream ADSL dial-up Internet environment, a G300Nv2 router with G301N Gargoyle firmware is installed, intranet computer A performs P2P (THUNDER download, BT download, P2SP movie, online movie), and Intranet computer B performs online games (FPS online games ).

Objectives:
Computer A's P2P application does not affect computer B's online games.

The specific settings of Gargoyle's QoS are as follows:

1. log on to the Gargoyle Management page;
2. Go to the DHCP page under Connection;
3. Configure Assigned Static IP Addresses in Static IPs;
4. assign IP 192.168.1.160 to computer A, assign IP 192.168.1.170 to computer B, and save the settings on the DHCP page;
5. Go to the QoS (Upload) page of Firewall and check Enable Quality of Service (Upload Direction );
6. Set QoS (Upload) -- Service Classes as follows:

7. Set QoS (Upload) -- Classification Rules as follows:

8. Save the settings on this page;
9. Go to the QoS (Download) page of Firewall and check Enable Quality of Service (Download Direction );
10. Set QoS (Download) -- Service Classes as follows:

Total (Upload) Bandwidth: 3200 kbit/s

11. Set QoS (Download) -- Classification Rules (same as step 1 );
12. Check Enable active congestions control (Download Direction );
13. You can enter a specific IP address in Use non-standard ping target. The default IP address is the IP address of your Internet gateway;
14. You can enter a specific value in Use custom ping limit, for example, 25. This value can be observed through long-time Ping to the gateway.
15. Save the settings on this page.

Effect:
After testing, with the preceding QoS settings involved, when the Intranet computer A downloads thunder BT, the maximum speed is limited to 1600 kbps (the actual BT download speed is KB per second ), in this case, the Intranet computer B performs COD: The Ping value of the online game MW3 increases by 30 ms, which is acceptable. When computer A enables P2P Video software such as PPS to play videos normally, it will hardly affect computer B's COD: Ping value of MW3 online games.

In the above test, the Maximum impact on the results is the value of the Slow class Max BW in step 1. If this value is set to too large or No Bandwidth Maximum, the Ping value of computer B will increase significantly. Therefore, although the Gargoyle official website and Forum emphasize the advantages of Min RTT and ACC, It is not ruled out that Gargoyle's QoS has good performance in IP speed limiting, coupled with pure bandwidth restrictions, the above performance will be achieved.
