To welcome SharePoint 2010, we decided to order a new notebook for Sharepoint 2010 development, testing, and demonstration. My requirements for new equipment are:
1. Light. Because I often have the opportunity to present presentations (for example, teched CHINA 2009, which is about to begin next month), I hope this new equipment is light enough. When I take it out, it won't make me feel too much "pressure ".
2. Adequate performance. Since my development environment is basically built on virtual machines, I hope it can easily run SharePoint 2010 virtual machines.
I finally ordered ThinkPad x200, Which is configured with Core 2 p8600, 6 GB memory (a single 4 GB notebook memory is too expensive, and I will upgrade it to 8 GB later), GB hard disk, and, it is light enough. After getting it last night, I started to install Windows Server 2008 R2 for it and started a hyper-V Virtual Machine for Sharepoint 2010. After a VM is allocated with GB of memory, it runs quite smoothly. :)
When the new equipment was ready, some comrades also heard rumors that they were preparing to order ThinkPad t400, 8 gb ram, and 2 GB intel Turbo memory...
