AutoFormat As you type is automatically formatted for text as you type, more convenient and easier to control, relative to the previous autoformat. The following methods are used:
1. Perform "format" → "AutoFormat", click the Correction button, open the AutoCorrect dialog box, and switch to the AutoFormat As You Type tab (or perform the tools → autocorrect options → type autoformat tab).
2. Select or clear the options you want.
(1) to replace the straight quotation mark with a curly quote: If you are not at the beginning of the sentence, you need a space before you type the left quotation mark
(2) The serial number (1st) is replaced with superscript: When selected, Word will automatically be set to the superscript effect of 1st, 2nd, 3rd when you type 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and so on in the document, but you must enter a carriage return or a space to achieve this when you have finished typing.
(3) The fraction (1/2) is replaced with a fractional character: Word automatically replaces them with a single character when you type a score such as 1/2,1/4. But if not the first paragraph, before the need to add a space, input completed after the space or enter to achieve.
(4) The hyphen (-) is replaced with a long dash (-): When selected, Word converts two consecutive minus signs to long dashes. Required carriage return can be achieved.
(5) * Bold * And _ italic _ replaced with true format: When selected, Word will display bold text enclosed in a pair of asterisk "*" and skew the text enclosed in a pair of underscore "_". But if "*" or "_" is not at the beginning of a paragraph, you need to precede it with a space.
(6) Internet and network paths are replaced by hyperlinks: When selected, Word automatically converts network paths and Internet paths to hyperlinks, where the text of the path becomes blue and underlined. When you click the hyperlink, Word launches the Web browser link to the specified page. If the following text is a letter or an Arabic numeral, you need to add a space.
(7) The beginning of a paragraph is preceded by a first-line indent: When you type four half-width spaces or two full-width spaces in the first paragraph, Word automatically applies the spaces to the top line indent format.

(10) Box line: Select to press ENTER after entering more than three consecutive "-", "=", "~", "*" (_), "#", "*", etc. after the first paragraph, and will be replaced with the corresponding border line.
(11) Table: Select this, you can use the plus and minus signs to create a table, such as "+----+---+----+", press ENTER, you will create a table. Each plus sign is created as a column, and the minus sign between the two plus signs represents column widths.
(12) Built-in heading style: Two consecutive returns after the text, the text just entered is automatically formatted as Heading 1 style. Note that the text must begin in Chinese, with a contiguous half-width space not exceeding two, not more than one in the full angle, or at least a single line if the above is body text.
(13) Date style: When you enter a date and press ENTER, the date is automatically moved to the appropriate location on the right side of the document.
(14) Set the format of the list item to be similar to the previous one: When selected, Word automatically repeats the character formatting that is listed at the beginning of the list item. For example, if the first word in the list is italic, Word will automatically apply italic formatting to the next list.
(15) Use tab and BackSpace to set left indent and first line indent: You can use the "tab" key and the "BackSpace" key to set left indent and first line indent.
(16) Defines a style based on the format used: a new paragraph style can be created based on a common format.
(17) match the left and right brackets: when you type the opposite bracket, you can automatically correct it to a matching type, regardless of the bracket (must be an parenthesis), if you type "(", "[" or "{").
3. Click "OK" button to save the settings, you can enter the description of the above will be automatically applied format.
There may be a situation when you use word that is overly enthusiastic and does not want to be implemented, and Word automatically implements it. You can then press the Ctrl+z key to undo the actions that are automatically performed. Of course, clicking the Undo button on the Standard toolbar also achieves the same goal.
