AutoText can save some text, graphics, or their complex with a high frequency, and insert it directly when used, without having to re-enter text or insert graphics. The following describes how to use it.
New AutoText entry
1. Select the contents of the AutoText to be included in the document.
Method One:
(1) to perform "insert" → "AutoText" → "AutoText ...", open the AutoText tab of the AutoCorrect dialog box, and name this entry in the "Type the AutoText entry" text box. If the content you want to add begins with text, Word automatically intercepts the first few characters of the selection as the name of the entry, and you can modify it.
(2) Click the "Add" button to add the entry to the automatic graphics and text collection.
(3) Click OK to close the dialog box.
Method Two:
(1) perform "insert" → "autotext" → "New ..." (or press ALT+F3), or perform "view" → "toolbars" → AutoText, display the AutoText toolbar, and click the New button.
(2) Name the entry in the "Create AutoText" dialog box that pops up.
(3) Click the "OK" button to add the entry to the AutoText and close the dialog box.
Insert AutoText entries
As long as there are custom entries in the automatic text set, the "Body" item appears at the bottom of its cascading menu, opens its next-level menu to choose to insert a custom entry, or clicks the All Entry button on the AutoText toolbar, opens the Drop-down menu, and selects the entry you want.
In addition, if the Show AutoComplete ' Suggestions ' item is selected on the AutoText tab, when a user enters at least the first four characters (or at least two characters) of an entry name, a prompt appears on the screen, and when you press ENTER, you can replace the character you entered with the AutoText entry.
Third, delete AutoText entries
In the AutoText tab, select an entry and click the Delete button to delete the entry.
Tips:
1. When you define an AutoText entry, if you preset attributes such as color, border, position, wrapping style, alignment, and so on, the formatting is also used when inserting this entry.
2. If you already have an entry with the same name in the AutoText, you will be prompted when you add the new entry, and click OK to overwrite the original entry.
3. If the name of the entry is a single character or a single Chinese character, you cannot use the AutoComplete feature, you can enter the entry name in the document first, and then press F3 to insert it.
The 4.Word has a list of AutoText entries in multiple languages, which are related to the display of different languages and the font settings for the insertion point position. If you want to use a common entry in Chinese, you can first set the insertion point font to a Chinese character font, such as XXFarEastFont-Arial. Custom entries are not affected by this.
